Works great
Bought this baby monitor in 2021 and still works great 3 years later. The video and sound quality is amazing and never had an issue with it. The range on it is also amazing. I can take it outside with me and have no issues with the range. Only down fall is that the battery doesn’t last more then a few minutes after being unplugged but that’s not the end of the world. I always have it plugged in. I am really impressed with this baby monitor

My favourite monitor!
This is the third monitor I’ve bought (one which I loved that broke, one that was annoying to use and I returned it) this one is fantastic.Okay, the one draw back is the battery life, BUT don’t let that be the reason you don’t buy this! It’s not the best, but we only use our monitor for nap time and night time so as long as it’s on the charger in between it’s not a big deal (plus right now we only have use for one camera so we keep the extra cord in the basement as an extra charger if we’re up late).One cool thing about this monitor is that the talk back feature actually works! Every other monitor I’ve bought, the talk back feature is distorted and incoherent, the talkback on this is crystal clear!It’s easy to install and alter the settings. Super user friendly and I like the interface. The screen is small but I can still see everything that’s going on in my son’s crib.The sound quality is great and goes louder than I need it to.Anyway, it’s a great monitor at a good price and I highly recommend it!

Good unit
This is a good monitor unit. The functionalities are very useful, from multiple feeds, to temperature monitoring, noise monitoring, two way talk function and non-WiFi transmission are all appreciated. The range on the unit is quite far and can easily be used even if you are working or hanging outside of your house, which is very useful.The buttons on the unit need to be pressed a bit harder than expected to use but once you’re used to them this isn’t a big problem.The only downside to this unit in our experience is that the battery life is not really as advertised. Charging it seems to take long and it seems to not last long on a charger either. I would say the maximum the battery seems to last would be about 4 hours, although I haven’t timed it. It’s definitely not something I’d leave unplugged through the night.Overall satisfied but the battery leaves some to be desired.

Absolute garbage.
We’ve had this monitor now for five months and have nothing great to say about it:-the light on the camera is SO BRIGHT. We had to cover the whole thing with multiple layers of duct tape so that it wouldn’t illuminate our entire nursery.-the battery does not last long at all before you need to plug it in.-when the battery is low, a beeping alarm goes off, but not just on the receiver end, also on the camera end. F you VTech, thanks for waking my baby up.

*Update 1 year later. VTECH has excellent customer service. They took care of me in a timely manner. I’ll be purchasing another one of these units despite the battery.Original review: How VTECH hasn’t just upgraded the batteries to Lithium yet is beyond me. The old Ni-MH batteries are AWFUL and the replacements I purchased from Amazon are just as atrocious.This being said, you can get these for a great price most of the time and apart from the ridiculously terrible battery it is a great little unit when plugged in.The volume and sound quality is good, the picture quality in regular daytime mode and nighttime mode are fine and the zoom is a handy little feature to have.I’d likely still purchase this unit if they upped the price a bit but offered a better battery because the rest of the product is worth it.

You should purchase the extended warranty
I’ve had this for 2 years now.V-tech customer service is amazing. My cats chewed threw a cord so I called to buy a replacement. They gave it to me for free and it shipped fast.Night vision is great close up, but a bit fuzzy” when across the room. You can still make things out, just more fuzzy though In the light the picture is sharp and clear and talking between units is great.Every time you hit the volume button, the monitor makes a beep sound. It also beeps when turning it on. Kind of loud if you have a sleeping kid in your room already.Cord is good and long. I bought a nylon cord protector to go around it to protect it. And all baby monitors cords break right near the connector. I use electrical tape to toughen it up. This has happened with my Motorola monitor, and any cords like this.Battery life is brutal now. It was fine when purchased, but now I can have it charging all night, screen off, then unplug it, turn on the screen and it starts beeping for low battery life, then turn off.It’s ok for the price. It works. And customer service is SOO good. Just have it plugged in all the time, reinforce the cord at each end, cover the speaker when hitting the buttons. And put it near the baby for a nice clear view lol

Best baby monitor
We live in the country and needed something sturdy with range that didn’t use wifi. This baby monitor has exceeded my expectations. Camping and around the yard the parent unit has held up to over a year of abuse. The battery doesn’t last like it used to, but it’s an easy fix with a battery pack.Sadly today it fell on the kitchen floor and the screen doesn’t work anymore. I wish I could order just a new parent unit. Will be purchasing another set!
