Customer Review –
Eufy’s help documents at this time inaccurately indicate that the E21 is compatible with the Homebase 3. I had to talk to someone in customer service to be told that the E21 is incompatible with Homebase 3 due to “security reasons.” I am left to wonder which item is insecure. Is the E21 not secure or is it the Homebase 3? If I could get this camera to work, I am guessing I would have liked it. For Eufy to have 2 separate ecosystems and apps for the E21 vs everything else doesn’t work well for current Eufy customers. This camera has everything I would want, including being battery powered. I have invested a lot in my Eufy system and to find out that Eufy is building a separate ecosystem for certain cameras is frustrating. I recommend this camera only if you don’t already have a Homebase and if you don’t plan on ever adding more cameras.

This baby camera works well and has many baby-centric features, and lacks basic features of similar non-baby cameras, like motion detection. I was able to use it by itself with the app, and didn’t need the E21 baby monitor screen. Picture was excellent in day and night (with and without night vision), and sound was clear both ways. App worked pretty smoothly, with a good level of customization. Camera keeps recording when Wi-Fi is disconnected. It worked fine on phone’s Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing use away from the home. Background noise function works decently and can play from 15 minutes to 5 hours, with a good range of volume. Camera sits nicely on a flat surface, and includes screw mount for wall or standard tripod screw.Live mode is functional, with zoom and pan, button to quickly zoom in on baby’s face (works really well), microphone button talk to baby, listening in, control of white noise, manually switching night vision off (to see in color), and taking a photo. Sound quality is good both directions, and baby can still be heard when white noise function is playing.Highlights:+ Excellent picture in light, dim conditions, and night vision.+ Doesn’t need E21 baby monitor screen, just app on smartphone. Works with smartphone’s Wi-Fi hotspot when away from home.+ Continues to record with Wi-Fi off or no connection.+ Can be kept charged and off, then turned on when needed.Minor issues:- Uses its own Eufy Baby app and can’t be added to normal Eufy app for their other cameras, so it’s not as easy to monitor this with your other cameras.- No motion alerts or recording. Only detects crying, loud sound, and abnormal temperature. It would be really nice to have motion detection with region selection, so e.g. it could notify and record movement outside of crib.- Temperature sensor sticks out side, making it hard to carry around. It would be nice if it had a recess to tuck it out of the way during transport.- Supports RTSP in 1080p (under Storage), but I couldn’t get it to work consistently or when app wasn’t connected in live mode.- White noise background sounds have short loops, which can be maddening to listen to (baby probably won’t notice looping).

It’s ironic how 4 years ago when we were looking for a baby monitoring camera, we ended up choosing a Eufy indoor camera with 360° rotation, pan and tilt. The reason we went with eufy was the image quality both day and night. It was very sharp!! Mouse baby cavers recorded at 1080p or lower. Eufy offered 2k recording!Fast forward 4 years and now there is an actual baby camera made by the same company! With another baby on the way, we decided to give this 4k camera a test. Immediately, I was super happy with the crisp image quality. The ease of operation continued from the security line onto the baby line. One disappointment at the of review (2/23/2025) is that you can’t install this camera onto the existing eufy ecosystem software. You have to install a separate software meant specifically for this baby camera! I read on some websites that there are plans to incorporate the camera into the security eufy software but so far nothing.

Received product quickly but unfortunately the cover for the microSD card was stuck between the black and white parts. In an effort to pry it out, it snapped and got stuck. Also, you cannot invert the picture or rotate it 180 degrees therefore it cannot be mounted upside down. Cable to plug into wall is far to short.

The Eufy E21 camera is leagues ahead of any other baby monitor, offering a true 4K high-resolution display while most competitors are still stuck at 720p or 1080p. It features a built-in 5000mAh battery, making it perfect for power outages or travel when an outlet isn’t available. The night vision is crisp and high-resolution, ensuring clear visibility even in the dark. Although not mentioned in the description, you can add a memory card to save memories or use it as a security camera. It also supports both WiFi and local (offline) connections with the baby monitor. With its high-res screen, built-in battery, and storage option without unnecessary AI features this is easily one of the best baby monitors available. Highly recommend!
