    I drastically changed by changing my environment !
    Before reading Benjamin Hardy’s book “WillPower Doesn’t Work” I had no idea how much my environment was impacting my life! Yes, I made New Year’s resolutions each year, but could never really follow through, even with sheer willpower. Willpower just doesn’t work and Ben proves it!I was tired all the time, out of shape, distracted with so many things on the go. Overwhelmed with clutter and never-ending house chores, which to my surprised also reflected my state of mind: scattered in my thoughts and actions. Typical me would start 5 books at the same time, but would not finish any.In this book, Ben demonstrates brilliantly how our environment shapes us. Then, shows easy steps to reset our lives and how to create an enriched environment in which we can thrive in. But first, we must decide. Decide what we want and commit do the work. Investing in ourselves upfront, making it public, setting a timeline, putting in place an accountability system and removing what’s slowing us down or going against our commitment are very effective ways to set ourselves up for success.I’ve reset my life in less than a month! I have de-cluttered my home, changed my diet, set up a morning routine where I take time to exercise, which gave me discipline and an enormous source of energy; to journal about my aspirations, goals and action plan, which fuels me with endless inspiration. I’ve finished more books in a month then I have in a year! I’ve taken on more projects then I ever could have before! My brain fog is gone. I am now focused, driven and inspired. I am amazed how fast I accomplish what needs to be done! I am thrilled to start each day and be of service. I feel on purpose and I truly believe that before the year is over I will have become the best version of myself.     Thought provoking and eye opening.
    Great read. Thought provoking and eye opening. Although some concepts are repetitive to other self help books, this book takes a fresh take on them. Overall, this book was helpful and I will reference back the summaries on an ongoing basis.

    Use science not pseudo science to decide to make changes in your life.
    Willpower doesn’t work is a great book. Benjamin Hardy clearly lays out all of the the things in our environments that are holding us back, what that is costing us and what we can do to succeed in changing our environments and ourselves without having to rely on willpower. He backs up everything with real science not just self help suggestions.The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because success is often defined as monetary and the examples used are primarily all from white men and a few white women so it doesn’t encompass everyone’s context.

    You won’t look back
    After years of making loose New Year’s resolutions and never meeting even those, I am making vast headway this year with affecting change in my life using the principles presented in this book. Excellent work presenting fresh ideas on how to make changes that allow us to improve and grow without beating our heads against a wall. Since January I have given up red wine, (this wasn’t even on my radar, I love my wine) but when I made the decision to get up at 5 am every day, then the wine just didn’t fit. I am also exercising 5 – 6 days a week; from nothing to regular consistent activity. Willpower doesn’t work, read the book and implement the ideas presented and see the results. You won’t look back.

    Advice is simple (not new) but logical, act to prep your environmetn to help you
    There is nothing really new about this book’s advice. Prep your environment so you are not constantly facing temptation.There is hardly any scientific reference in the book, some sound bites and a lot of “research has found”… it also falls into the same mistake many self help books: it assumes you have unlimited time, money, space to reshape your environment into anything you want…There are also a few glaring BS arguments in it… like “most affluent people do x, y or z” completely ignoring that until very very recent, most affluent people in America simply inherited their “affluence”
