Saving Me from Buying a Phone (for Now…)
So, I got this smartwatch for my kid, and I’ll update once they give me their expert feedback (which will probably involve a lot of dramatic sighs and “It’s fine, I guess”).I specifically wanted a watch that doesn’t need a phone or an app to work, because the second an app is required, I know what comes next—”But Moooom/Daaad, I neeeeed a phone for it!” Nice try, kid. Not today.Straight out of the box, it looks solid and well-built, ready to survive the trials of childhood (which mostly involves being dropped, stepped on, and possibly dunked in something questionable). It’s got all the essential features a kid could want—time, calendar, alarm, stopwatch, pedometer, and even a mileage tracker (for all their serious business walking needs). It claims to be waterproof, but let’s be real—probably more like “oops-I-spilled-my-juice” proof. The light blue color is a nice touch, and at this price, I won’t cry if it ends up in the washing machine one day.So far, 10/10 for keeping my kid entertained without adding a new monthly phone bill to my life. A win for parents everywhere!

Digital Watch with some fitness tracking
This watch will work for someone who just wants a digital watch without all the bells and whistles of a smartwatch. The watch housing is metal with a shiny dark face. The strap is made of a soft silicone and has two strap keepers and a metal clasp. According to the webpage, the strap can fit a small wrist of only 5.1 inches and up to a larger wrist of 7.6 inches. The watch band fits my spouse’s wrist fine and she has the clasp in the center of all the holes. Another great feature about this watch is that one doesn’t need an app nor a smartphone as it is completely stand alone. An important note is the watch is not waterproof. The manual states it is IP67 which means it can be worn in the rain, washing hands or be used in shallow water. Not recommended for hot baths or swimming. What can this Watch do?-Shows time (hour and minutes) along with the Date (month and day)-Counts your steps along with tallying up your steps and shows how far you walked in either miles or kilometers-Shows number of calories burnt-Has two alarms-A stopwatch function and-Can show the percentage of battery remainingSpeaking of battery, this watch comes with a magnetic charging cable with a USB A connector. The charging cable is just under 2 feet in length. How does this Watch perform?-The watch keeps good time-The step counter seems to count high based on my tests. For example, if I walk from the kitchen to the basement which is 40 steps and then return, the watch reports 98 steps or 22% more steps. I compared it to my smartwatch step counter for 8 hours. During that time, I did some movement around the house and some grocery shopping. My smartwatch reported 4792 steps while this watch came in at 8207 steps so that is a huge difference.-The alarm works well. There is no audible alarm but a vibration. If I lay the watch on a hard surface, then I can hear the vibration.-The stopwatch keeps good time but I couldn’t get to the time nor step count while the stopwatch was running. I needed to turn the stopwatch off to see the time or the step count. The dark shiny surface on the watch is not hardened and therefore gets scratched very easily. I had a ¾” scratch on the watch face within 15 minutes of putting the watch on and I don’t even know when it happened.

Nice features, pedometer overestimates steps if not actually on a walk, needs wall charging outlet
Benefits:- Battery lasts full day. (I charge it at night off my computer, but I wish it came with the full plug, and not just the cable that requires you to have a usb charger.)- Fits well on my wrist. (I have small wrists for a woman. I usually wear watches on the smallest or second smallest clasp, so this kid’s watch fits me in the middle clasp of the band. But it’s clearly made for people with small wrists, or children).- The silicone band is comfortable.Peculiarities:- The watch does not display anything unless you press the top (A) button. It is not touch screen- I asked two friends who own Apple Watches what they thought of this watch in terms of its aesthetic, and they told me it looks cheap. They instantly could tell that the screen is plastic, and they said it’s obvious it’s not an Apple Watch because of the two buttons on the side, and the screen quality.- The watch doesn’t come with a wall charger; it only comes with a usb cable to plug into a wall charger that you have to buy separately (I recommend they provide this in the package, even if they have to charge a few dollars more to include it)- The pedometer doesn’t seem the most accurate, but its accuracy depends on the type of movement. If you’re going on an actual walk, it’s relatively accurate, but if you’re just moving around your house, the measurement is more off.E.g. The pedometer says I did 1041 steps in the last 3 hours (while working from home), and my phone says I did 100 steps. I recognize I don’t hold my phone every moment I move, like I do keep the watch on, but I made sure to take my phone with me when I went to and from the kitchen or bathroom to count steps, and the watch still overestimates a lot of steps. (This is after I input my height and weight in the watch).E.g. I went for a 1 hour walk. The pedometer says I did 6200 steps, but my iPhone says I did 6500 steps.I still recommend this watch for the features and the price, but just take the pedometer value with a grain of salt for movements around the home.

Got this watch for my kid, and it’s been great! Super easy to use, no app needed. The waterproof feature is a big plus. No worries if it gets wet. Fits well, looks cool, and my kid loves it. Perfect gift for kids!
