A Economical L-Shape Desk but not Quite Flexible
This L-Shape desk is relatively economical compared to similar products from other brands, and the material of the metal used is pretty sturdy. However, this desk does not offer the functionality to turn in both directions. This means that you have to do some imaginary metalwork and make sure the desk can fit and turn toward the corner of your choice. Some other brands like VWINDESK VJ301 L Shaped desk can turn in both directions which is more flexible but more expensive. If you did the wrong calculation before the purchase and found that the desk does not fit after the delivery, you may have a hard time for the seller to offer you a return label since they do not like customer returns. As a result, remember to do the measurement and calculation carefully before the purchase!

I purchased this frame back in July 2022 and have been using it daily since. The load varies each day, but it has consistently held a desktop PC, multiple laptops, two large monitors and various other objects like water thermoses, speakers, books, etc. I’ve even stood on it on occasion (170lbs, still holding the computer). Never once have I worried that the frame would fail with this weight on it, and never once has it appeared to struggled to change height while bearing it.The included controller is sufficient for precise millimeter adjustments, and unlike the controllers I’ve used at work, the memory positions do not require holding the button. The display is easily legible even in bright light, and shuts off in about a minute after adjusting position (useful if the desk is in a bedroom and the occupant is sensitive to light). The motors are quiet enough to not be bothersome while changing height. The collision detection also works as it should. My desk straddles a radiator, and even if I accidentally lower the desk too far, the frame will stop and return to a safer height.Placing the controller and assembling the rest of the frame was straightforward. The instructions are clear, and the parts are clearly labeled in the packaging. During assembly, I discovered the unique architecture of my apartment prevented me from finishing the build. However, when I called VIVO, I was given great support and even connected to an engineer who made measurements during our conversation. I was able to finish the build exactly how I wanted it despite my unusual circumstances.Pros: – Straightforward assembly – Flexible configuration allows it fit in a small NYC apartment without issue – Reliable construction and motors – Excellent customer service – Convenient controller – Large height rangeCons: – Assembly can be more flexible, such as supporting the return leg in either direction – No built-in cable routing at any leg to wall powerOverall, this frame is a safe buy. There are now multiple other options for L-shaped standing desk on Amazon, but I cannot speak to their quality, convenience, or customer support. Customers can rest assured buying this frame will let them shape the desk to the exact shape they want with reliable parts, a convenient controller, and excellent support for a DIY product.

These legs are amazing! I live in a mountain area and my home slightly slanted, luckily the legs have adjustable knobs that allowed me to perfectly balance them. I used a couple butcher blocks stained black, and the screws that came with the legs locked them in perfectly! The included brackets to secure 2 table tops together where a god send. It’s really seems like manufacturer truly cares because they thought of everything I need before I realized I needed it. I was worried that the heavy butcher blocks would sag or droop. especially in the corner where it seems like there’s less support. I’m happy to say, the desk is solid! And I’m a big guy, leaning my weight on the desk isn’t an issue at all. As long as the legs are properly centered with the top, it’s amazing! The motor is quiet. I work from home in a call center like job, I can adjust the desk mid call and the sound never gets picked up by my mic. Granted, the mics provided do cancel quite background noises, but a motor that’s quite enough to be canceled blows my mind. I have a lot on my desk, and legs are able to extend to the fullest length. Whether the desk is low, raised, or while moving, there is no rocking, no vibration, or shaking. Everything stays in its place. It smoothly glides up and down, with no abrupt jerky stops. It’s well worth the money. I appreciate it, and my back does too!

had to modify (cut and weld) to fit my obtuse corner desktop (homemade) but once modified works exceptionally well, very stable with my setup (in a corner)

i have had a couple of vivo desks over the years, upgraded to a little bit large of an area, and this does not disappoint. I’ve never had problems with vivo, and recommend their monitor arms as well. feels great, moves well, and looks great. I’ve also had great customer support with them, and would never shy from another vivo product.

First off, my top is butcher block in two sections. 30″x60″ and 30″x48″. I like the option to sit in the corner and rest my arms on each side of the “L” for comfort and support during long days. I liked that it came with steel plates for underneath the 2 wood pieces to better support the top. The other thing I wanted to do was add casters to the base So I could easily move the desk out occasionally to clean, etc… The screwed in legs are M8-1.25m, so getting casters was easy. Went with some steel heavy weight bearing ones. This is where I found the desk’s weakness. In the back corner leg (without the “T” base), the threaded mount to accept the screwed in adjustable leg (at the floor) is displaced below the plate. This offset makes that part weak. When I put a caster in it, that part bent. The caster post/bolt was fine. This is when I pulled off the bottom plate held on by 4 hex screws and found something problematic that doesn’t affect the other legs. The threaded adjustable leg mount is a compression fit piece and isn’t welded. The compression joint failed and bent. That means even slightly pulling the desk with it’s standard legs would bend that mount. Who doesn’t occasionally move a desk? Thought about just welding it but thought I can do better by just getting a T base foot that’s on the other legs. I looked for vivo desk parts for this desk which would have the T base foot with no luck. I then found another site online which has a similar sized T base foot at up-lift desk. the v1 24″ T foot worked great for 35 bucks. Had to drill out the 4 screw holes as the vivo plate holes didn’t exactly match. Now I have a great desk that spins on the floor with no ill effect. Too bad vivo doesn’t supply this foot by default. I still rate this desk a 4 star as everything else about the desk is solid. If you don’t drag it, you’d probably be fine.
