Good product which satisfied all my needs
    Good

  2. Truth Be Told

This pressure cooker not only feels cheap but the manual is so poorly translated that it’s hard to know what to do. They’re contradictory and confusing. I’ve seen horror stories where pressure cookers have exploded in people’s faces and caused irreparable damage or even death and I’m actually afraid of this one due to the cheap make and horrible manual. My Review Criteria: I do not review anything that I don’t want/need for my own personal use and I have enough knowledge about it to provide accurate and useful details. I do tell it like it is and I am not influenced to provide feedback that isn’t based on facts or my own experience. Therefore you can trust my unbiased review as if I were a friend looking out for your best interest and that of your hard-earned money.

This is a different name for the trademarked product called an “instant pot”. It’s a programmable pressure cooker that you can use to cook any number of things quickly and easily. You can cook dried beans in 20-25 minutes. The pressure cooker allows you to make roasts and other meats nice and tender in a fraction of the time it would take to braise or slo-cook using a traditional method. It makes brown rice in 15 minutes (as opposed to an hour) and white rice quicker than a rice-cooker.This one has all kinds of settings and a cookbook/owner’s manual that gives you the basics for making soups, stews, roasts, root vegetables (carrots/potatoes/etc.) fresh vegetables like green beans, etc. There’s almost nothing you can’t do with it. This model that has multiple extra settings over and above just a timer and heat setting. It’s very simple to operate and the manual is quite detailed.I really think this is an excellent value for the price, and I know I will be using this for many years to come. I definitely recommend it.

This VBGK Pressure Cooker 6.3 Quart is my very first pressure cooker & first time using one. I’ve seen so many horror stories about pressure cookers exploding in people’s kitchens & leaving a mess as high as the ceiling, so I was certainly hesitant to use this. Once I thoroughly read through the instructions & tried something small, I built up my confidence. I do wish this machine was more intuitive, but I have the “Tableware” version & probably should’ve gotten the “Touch Control” version for a more intuitive feel.

I own a small Instant Pot pressure cooker, so I was excited to try this VBGK pressure cooker since it boasted a much larger size and 14 functions in 1 appliance. As a busy single dad, having a versatile multicooker like this seemed like it would make weeknight dinners a breeze. After testing it out, I have mixed feelings. On the plus side, the stainless steel inner pot does seem decent quality and easy to clean. THe size is generous enough for large family dinners. The digital control panel is handy for selecting modes and timing meals. I like that it has presets for things like yogurt, rice, oatmeal, etc. However, the manual is severely lacking! I was totally lost trying to figure this thing out. The translations are downright confusing rather than helpful. I ended up having to look up recipes online specifically for this model to learn how to use the different modes. Even then, some directions didn’t seem to match up with what the cooker was doing. While the pressure cooking itself works fine, the faulty manual really hampers this model in my opinion. I want an appliance that takes the guesswork out of cooking, not the other way around! I’m figuring out all the settings. For the price, I wish it was more user-friendly, especially for beginners. The quality seems decent, but the lack of clear guidance makes it hard for me to recommend. I’m debating whether to keep trying or just upgrade to an Instant Pot with better instructions.

I can slow cook many different foods. It’s large, well made, easy to use, and easy to clean. I made the best vegetable stew ever!
