An EXTREMELY Helpful Financial Literacy Resource for Families…
….and a Book that should be offered to Students in SchoolsI had this book out one night when I had a few friends over with their kids (outside and appropriately distanced) and I was amazed at how many of the kids (teenagers and younger) picked it up and commented that they wished their parents had taught them more about how to be smart with money. As many of them are navigating first jobs and are interested in learning to invest, they continued to read parts of the book – even out loud to the others. Like me, sheepishly a few parents admitted that they didn’t make financial literacy a priority in their homes and they wished they had. At the end of the evening, one of the kids asked to take the book home!I thought the book was well-written, easy to digest, and provided extremely helpful tips. I would recommend it for parents who want to ensure that their kids have a healthy relationship with money, and kids who want to explore the subject on their own. Now I have to go replace my copy…..

Financial literacy is tied to kids’ health
Tremendous read, well-laid out and very relatable, filled with practical tips and relevant vignettes. Robin Taub is a fierce advocate for “immersing” our kids in financial know-how from a young age, because she knows — as I know as a pediatrician — that financially savvy kids are more likely to be financially secure as adults, and therefore healthier throughout their lives.Key message: Start early, if you can; but it’s never too late to start.I can’t recommend this book highly enough!

Full of Great info and insights!
This is a great book (and not just for parents!). Robin has tons of fantastic advice and insights on talking money with kids and family. She focuses on 5 pillars: earn, save, spend, share, invest, and she explores them with different age groups which was great. She also includes helpful (and easy-to-use) worksheets right in the book. Thank you!! For any parent who is searching for awesome ideas as to how to begin (or expand) the money conversation with their kids, this is the go-to book!

Simplest of guide that makes it so effective and information valuable
I bought 4 of the book. One to be read at home (we don’t have kids but we do have a few nieces) and the rest is to gift to my sisters-in-law. What makes it effective is the simplicity of the message and quickly put them to use.Money matter is always a touchy subject during family gatherings, but it is one of the vital literacy a child should learn from adults in the family. Knowing what to do or teach at each stage of a child’s life and learn from is a potential game-changer in the child’s adult life.Gifting the book surely makes those family discussions more agreeable.

A MUST READ FOR ANY PARENT!
A must read for any parent looking to raise independent, responsible kids! I am a CPA with a 19 and 17 yr old. I wish I had this book 10 years ago – which would have made my goal of teaching my kids about money so much easier. It is easy to read, practical and gives real world guidelines to help you navigate each stage of growing up. I am buying copies for my friends and family with younger kids so they have it all all spelled out for them. This topic is so important in today’s digital world where money is invisible and stakes are high!

This made it so easy to talk to my grandkids about managing money, I highly recommend it!
I was looking for a way to connect with my grandkids about managing money. I know I am supposed to leave that to their parents, but hey, when do grandparents ever do that??? The book was great, it gave me ideas of how to talk about the concepts without me lecturing. It opened the door to some great conversations (and they are wiser than I ever knew). I recommend it !!

Best Book For Teaching Kids About Money!!!
Fantastic resource! As an educator and a parent, I appreciate the mix of clear, practical strategies, researched data, and real-life examples. I love the way Robin has broken the information down by ages and has included so many useful templates like the Cash Flow Calculator and the Values Validator. Also, the ‘Things to Do’ and ‘Family Discussion’ sections are particularly helpful in making money-talk part of everyday conversation. Discussing the difference between a WANT and a NEED has created some great debate at my house! I would highly recommend The Wisest Investment.

Robin does a great job providing a framework for thinking through how to teach your children about money and financial management. A quick and valuable read.

Most of us struggle with our own finances and the national stats on saving, credit card debt, car loans and retirement bear that out.Given our own poor money skills, one could argue that us teaching our kids about money would be doing them a disservice from which they may never recover.Robin’s book lays out both a framework for thinking about money as well as a family curriculum to equip children of each age group with the tools they need to understand everything from credit to cryptocurrency and from debt to debit. The book even includes helpful worksheets to track financial progress of both parents and kids.Buy this book, spend some time on it with your kids and, in a structured way, save them from all the financial mistakes you’ve made!

I enjoyed Robin’s thorough age-and-stage approach to help parents raise money-smart kids. I came away with loads of useful ideas.Importantly, though, I like Robin’s consultative rather than prescriptive approach. Robin recognizes that every kid is different and she encourages us as parents to discover what approaches she presents will work for our kids. The Wisest Investment is aptly named. This is a small price to pay for a lot of money wisdom.
Bethany Bayless –
I loved this book and the wonderful, practical advice Robin gives when raising financially responsible adults. She gives great examples of how to model these healthy habits for your children wether they are still in grade school or high school years. I personally want to do whatever I can so my children can have a healthy, rewarding relationship with money while also giving them a safe space to “fail”. Thank you Robin for helping moms like me and equipping us with the right tools to set up our children for success!

However, the author does an AMAZING job of breaking the process down into manageable and simplistic steps. This book provides valuable guidance in a practical and fun manner.Robin shares a multitude of accessible resources to help you. In addition, she offers excellent tips for financial guidance with your children during everyday activities.Overall, fantastic book & a must read for parents ready to dive into money conversations with their children. Especially if you want financially independent children.

Robin Taub has written a wonderful manual for parents to follow, filled with tips and ideas for how to introduce your kids to money. She covers the major age bands that parents should consider for teaching their kids about money, and each band is broken down into the topics and Earn, Save, Spend, and Share. The book does have some Canadian specific references when it comes to types of accounts available and tax considerations, but the US equivalents are easily found online and the same systems apply universally!Highly recommend
