If you are a beginner to Instant Pot! (commentaires en français inclus plus bas)
If you are a beginner (so a little insecure with pressure cookers) this book is great because it contains 800 recipes! This leaves you with a wide range of ideas for cooking your meals with your Instant Pot. Having said that, this book lacks a first premise… because I remember when I first started… I was so scared! Let me explain:If you’re not a familiar, you might have a little trouble finding your way around. First of all, there are no images in the book and we all know that pictures often make a big difference! Also, some recipes lack precision, for example one that calls for rice. The recipe doesn’t indicate if it’s raw or cooked rice, and what kind of rice is it? This can be a bit intimidating if you are not used to cook with a pressure cooker.I think this book needs more detailed explanation. At least, first, find out how your Instant Pot works. Try 2-3 recipes from your instruction manual to familiarize yourself with the appliance. Premièrement, le livre ne contient aucune image et on le sait, les photos font souvent une grande différence! Aussi, certaines recettes manquent de précisions comme par exemple une qui demande du riz. La recette n’indique pas si c’est du riz cru, cuit, et il s’agit de quelle sorte de riz? Cela peut donc être un peu intimidant si on n’a pas l’habitude de cuisiner avec un autocuiseur.Je pense que ce livre aurait besoin d’explications plus détaillées. Au minimum, informez-vous d’abord du bon fonctionnement de votre Instant Pot. Essayez 2-3 recettes contenues dans votre manuel d’instruction afin de vous familiariser avec l’appareil. Might be ok for experienced cooks
In fairness, I will admit that I haven’t made any of the recipes yet. I am an experienced cook and I will say that many of these recipes just look odd to me. The Pot Roast Stew calls for 1/2 cup bay leaves. Half a cup?? And it doesn’t say to remove them before serving either. None of the recipes I’ve looked at specify fresh or dried herbs. This makes a BIG difference to a recipe and an inexperienced cook wouldn’t necessarily know which to use. Another recipe calls for 1/4 cup rice. Is that raw rice or cooked rice? Even I’m not totally sure. The wording in some of the directions contain some spelling mistakes which is strange for a published cookbook. One recipe is called Adorable Saucy Basmati Rice. Adorable rice? A misprint perhaps?? Overall, I will reserve final judgment until I’ve made a few of the recipes but I feel this book needs more detailed and careful explanations rather than simply cramming it full of 800 half-assed recipes. The price is very reasonable so, if you’re a fairly confident cook and can fill in the blanks yourself, it might be a useful addition to your cookbook collection.

Index is not set up under main headings.
The index is interesting. I would have like all chicken recipes, for example, to be under main headline Chicken….., instead, for example, the heading is CHILEAN chicken. HOT BUFALO CHICKEN BALLS IS IN THE H file. This way it is difficult to find all the CHICKEN recipes as they are throughout the index. Recipes themselves are great!!!!

Así mismo el gran contenido esta bien estructurado, por secciones de receta, por ejemplo: Comida del mar; pastas y arroces; vegetariana y vegana; y otras 8 secciones.Seguramente encontraras algunos de tus platos favoritos. Me gusta el libro y recomiendo maridar muchos de estos platos con una buena cerveza artesanal o un vino de buena calidad.Yo he disfrutado el contenido y manos a la obra.

This is a great resource with a great many interesting recipes which are from both sides of the pond — the more North American ones can easily be converted into British with a little tweaking; conversions are easy to do these days with a bit of help from a chart, and most recipes fit well into the smallest (3L) instantpot. I gave it a five-star rating because 4.5 wasn’t available.The thing that would make it truly 5 star is a real index, not a list of titles at the end of the book (basically the same as the listing at the front except jumbled up). Most recipe books have an index by ingredients, ie. Chicken, peaches, buttermilk, etc. This ‘index’ works best if you are looking up words like zesty, yummy, dad, best ever, etc. Which is hardly any help if one is looking for a recipe to go with ingredients left in the fridge.I think this index has been done by computer, not by a human who really thought about how other humans use indexes to search for information.
