4 reviews for The New Rules of Money: A Playbook for Planning Your Financial Future: A Workbook

  1. Chris Ross

A great primer on the fundamentals of personal finance that would be an ideal gift for a college graduate or anyone taking the first steps towards financial self-improvement. I remember buying WSJ’s older book on personal finance years ago—it seems staid and stiff compared to this fresh, well-designed edition. The strength of The New Rules of Money is that it takes a holistic perspective on finance, seeing saving and spending habits on the context of the whole person. More importantly, it is actionable, designed not just to impart knowledge but to increase self-reflection and change your habits. Personal finance tomes can often be alarmist and shouty. This book, by comparison, takes a measured, empathic approach to gaining a better relationship with your money.

  2. J. Kaemmerling

I liked the idea of this book. I can see how it will be helpful for people who have not had access to life skills, financial resources, or other avenues that teach basic personal finance habits. If you are able to follow the conversation in a podcast about financial markets or read at least 1 page of financial analysis a day, you’re better off looking for a different book.My interpretation of how this book was marketed was that it was going to go deeper on how to scale or generate wealth generation, when in reality it offers a more topical overview of healthy financial habits. I was seeking tip, tricks, ideas for portfolio optimization etc.

  3. R. L. H.

Learn from my mistake do not waste your money or time. Far better books are available on this topic that are informative; “Napkin Finance” comes to mind. This product is bad enough that I’ve just written my first review.

  4. Sarah

This book helps people take control of their finances in an easy low stress way. Would strongly recommend as a gift to others or yourself
