Sunny Isle makes some of the best oils on the market. Their Batana oil is another jewel in their collection – it feels great on the skin and scalp and works like a charm. The only thing is this: if you have never used Batana oil, it does have a bit of a scent. It’s not bad or anything – but it is worth noting. Don’t sleep on Sunny Isle! (I am not a secret influencer – ha! – or anything. Just an honestly satisfied customer.)

When I saw the top on the bottle of my oil broken, I almost cried because I thought I had lost precious oil, but the seal was intact. I absolutely love Jamaican Black Castor oil and I don’t anticipate stopping anytime soon. This oil is thick and a little goes a long way, but you will see the benefits immediately. My afro textured hair loves this oil and I am here for it.

First of all the seal was broken and the oil had leaked in shipping. Thankfully they wrapped it really good with bubble wrap so it didn’t leak all over the rest of my shipment which included electronics. Once I washed it off it looks like not a lot leaked out. This is much thicker than any other Batana oil I’ve used. Almost sticky instead of slick oil feeling. I really don’t like the smell. Almost like burnt tobacco or as another review put it, stale coffee. Every other Batana oil I’ve tried had a more nutty, mildly sweet smell with a slick texture. Maybe the Castor oil is really good for you? But I can’t stand the smell.
