I bought this pot for a cacti display. The pot is very attractive, albeit the stand is a little too large. However, I fortunately the drainage hole is in the center of the pot which is slightly elevated. This results in some water not draining away and sitting in the bottom of the pot. This would be suitable for bonsai or other non-plant displays, however it runs too high a risk of root rot for cacti or succulents.
