Serta Ergonomic Executive Office Chair Motion Technology Adjustable Mid Back DesignI looked around for a very long time for just the right chair for my office at home. I finally settled on this chair. As with most reviews, there were some bad ones that caused me pause. For instance, one indicated that you could not adjust the lumbar pad because it was attached to the seat. I can see how that might be frustrating; however, it fits my back perfectly. It is so nice to lean back and have that support right where it matters. One review didn’t like the seat movement/rocking. When I first sat down in it, I was a little concerned myself that I felt I was being pushed forward a bit, but I got used to it in about a day, and I love it. I like how the arms are adjustable up and down and that they are padded. I really have only one small concern with the arms and that is the structural material is a hard plastic. I have a habit of pushing myself up using the arms and then folding my legs under me on the seat. Because the arms are plastic, I worry that I may break them. So far they have stood up to my weight and I haven’t had any problems. (I’m 5’7″ and about 168 lbs.) Finally, it was a breeze assembling. Overall, I am extremely happy with this chair and would definitely purchase it again.

Beautiful chair. Horrible back support. Oh my gosh. The “support” literally sticks out so far my BACK was bowed outward like I was trying to bend over backward. Could not sit but just a few minutes in this chair it was so uncomfortable. We even took the support out thinking we could use it that way because we liked the look of the chair itself. Nope, then my back was curved over like I was bending toward my knees. Oh my. So back to the store it goes. Sad, really nice chair. They should say in the description that the lumbar support sticks out about 4″. It shows a little bit, but not like it was. I was going to take a picture of it, but the office guy had already taken it back apart and boxed it back up. Some people might like this, but nobody in this office did. We tried. Good luck.

I love this chair my only complaint is there is a squeek I cannot locate to oil and it is very annoying. However, that is an issue with this chair, I doubt all are this bad. Oh, the set I got had no instruction to put it together so my husband I am sure would rate this much lower since he had the problem of putting it together. But as for the chair, I love it. I sm short and it fits me.

Lumbar cushion is attached to the seat of the chair, not the back. It is very prominent and as such uncomfortable. When you lean back in the chair and your legs press down on the front edge of the seat it causes the attached lumbar cushion to apply even more pressure against your back. I see what Serta was trying to do with this model but the end result was not good. The chair assembled easily and did not have any loose parts.

It’s not the Droid your looking for. You want a chair that’s as comfortable to sit in as this one appears to be in the pictures. Trust me pictures are not worth a thousand words (which is how many I could write about this ridiculous chair). I however will not bore you to virtual death on this virtual platform. The chair will be a disappointment to you. The arm rests are… wide, the lumbar is…hard and aggressive, the tilt feature is…uh, stupid, the assembly was…weird (with some bolts that didn’t even screw in flush), the fabric was soft but not durable, the back rest was not tall, and the butt cushion was not really that padded. I sound like a crazy person, but really my last chair was like half the price of this at Staples and I only got rid of it because it was flaking. The chair itself was super comfortable.
