Quality control let one of these pots be sent to me with a defective finish. Had I received two well made pots I would have been very happy.

I’m not sure what type of clay was used to make these pots, but the texture of the unglazed sections is reminiscent of plaster of Paris. It’s bright white and extremely smooth, unlike the clays usually used in plant pots, and when struck with a fingernail has an unusual ringing sound that is not typical. It’s lighter weight than I would expect for the size. I do wonder if this material contributed to the breakage of one of the two pots.Which brings me to the second issue – while there was a layer of padding between the pots (one of which was inside of the other), it did not completely separate them. As such, they were able to make contact during transit and the outer pot was broken into multiple pieces.The color is nice, at least.

LIKES: beautiful color, nice thickness of material, multiple holes for wire and drainage. DISLIKES: shipped very poorly (one of two were broken and it could have been avoided if each piece was separated by piece of foam); no metal wire to secure plant to pot (was not advertised to come but it would be nice to have). HOW USING: I am going to use this pot in one of my bonsai specimens. RECOMMENDATION: Yes IF…Yes but I would only purchase if you have the option of sending back if arrives broken. I have received these types of products from other companies and they ship the items wrapped together but with a piece of foam in-between to prevent breakages. It is a simple fix to reduce problems. I don’t know if they just forgot in this package or if the company just doesn’t bother. Too bad because it really is a beautiful product.
