    Wonderful book on mindfulness! The writing is very thoughtful and straightforward, the illustrations are beautiful and the suggested practices are simple and practical. It’s broken down into short chapters with effective descriptions, anecdotal stories and meaningful quotes. The layout is just perfect! This book is ideal for parents and teachers who want to help children live a mindful life, but it also offers helpful tips to adults who want to live more mindfully as well.

    My daughter is in her final year at university and feeling stressed out with the final year demands. We live 400 miles apart so to give her some support we each have a copy of this book and go over the chapters together on the phone, discuss the meaning and practice the exercises together, though geographically apart. I think the actual personal interaction plays some part in this but the ideas and exercises are useful and I find the structure of going through it with her decreases her stress. I think this is a good way of getting involved with our children without being seen to be ‘telling them what to do’ – and most parents will know the need to avoid doing that!

    A beautifully written and illustrated intro to mindfulness for children and adults. For the sceptical adult it provides insight on the value of mindfulness and then, when you’re convinced, great techniques. For children it provides lots of simple daily routine ideas of bringing mindfulness into their lives and strategies for difficult moments.

Uz has a particularly clear and succinct way of explaining mindfulness to the non-expert and the innovative way she has adapted some of the core practices makes them even more accessible to young people and their families.
