COOKING AND CARING FOR YOUR CAST IRON SET
Caring for your cast iron doesn’t have to be complicated. Lodge cookware comes already seasoned and ready to use, so you can make your family’s favorite recipes right away. You can use it on any heat source, from the stove to the campfire (just not the microwave!). Sear some fresh Atlantic salmon, or use it for a family-style apple cobbler. The more you use it, the better the seasoning will get.
After hand washing your cookware, simply place it on a burner for a few minutes to dry and then rub on a thin layer of the cooking oil of your choice. For extra messy situations, simmer some water in your pan and then use a pan scraper after it’s cooled. For excellent maintenance, and to prevent rust, always dry promptly and store in a cool, dry place. The Tempered Glass Lid allows for easy clean up. It’s dishwasher safe and can withstand temperatures in the oven up to 400° F, allowing you the freedom, flexibility, and efficiency that your recipes call for.The lightweight design allows for peeking, without losing the moisture or flavor that you need. Keep in moisture and steam in the oven, on the grill, or on the stove for recipes with big flavor.
Durable Cast Iron Construction: Made from cast iron for even heat distribution and long-lasting durability.
Tempered Glass Lid: Provides an easy way to monitor cooking and prevent spills.
Oven-Safe: Can be used on the stovetop or in the oven for versatility.

ON MY WISH LIST FOR A WHILE – I finally got it specifically for a focaccia bread recipe (turned out great). I think 12″ is the perfect size – because I also have a 12″ All Clad stainless steel pan for just about everything, and I love the capacity – even if you are cooking a small amount of food, it gives you plenty of room to work without being too crowded. I got the glass lid for the Lodge pan because it’s so convenient to see how foods are cooking — when liquids have come to a boil or simmer. The lid is tempered glass, which means it can go in the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. I was a little concerned about the “seasoning” that is required – but it turns out it is seasoned in the factory before it is shipped – and you can hand wash it with soap and water after cooking and apply a thin coat of vegetable oil to keep it seasoned – that’s it – easy. (Get the HOTEC basting brushes to spread the oil – they are fantastic and inexpensive, and they go in the dishwasher.) Of course, this Lodge pan is very heavy, but that is the tradeoff for a great pan that can take high heat and provide even heat distribution and great results. It does have a “helper handle” that makes it easy to pick up and balance. Now I think every kitchen can use a cast iron pan, and I should have gotten it a while ago!

First time user and I’m super satisfied the food comes out delicious and tasty. Very easy to clean i do recommend this cast iron pan.

I use at least one of these pans every day. Cast iron takes some getting used to, but I’ll never go back to non-stick. Very well made and the covers are a great bonus. Heads-up that the larger pan is a heavy sucker; two hands needed to move it.

Its too heavy to use. Even though it says non stick pan, it doesn’t.. I am completely unsatisfied with this product

Bought the 10.5″ and love it. It does exactly as it should. Easy to care. Right after I wash up everything else from our meal, and then wash, dry and oil the Skillet ready for the next use. Chops, eggs, steak, fish all have been properly cooked, but never stick to the skillet.
