    Lodge cast iron pans are very high quality pans at a reasonable price. They are heavy, thick pans ith short handles to make them easier to lift. They handles are cast iron as well, so get hot also and “must” be handled with potholders. Lodge sells a slip on heat resistant cover for lifting the hot pan if you do not want to use potholders.“They come pre treated with oil which is what makes cleaning the pans very easy. The frying pans are more deep sided than most frying pans, which I really like. Of course they can be used in both the oven or on the stove top. They heat evenly, fit flat on gas burners and never develope any kind of wobble due to warping of the pan’s bottom. I love items that are Made in America, which these pans are. Look online if you aren’t familiar with cleaning cast iron pans, but remember if you wash cast iron pans in water and don’t get them 100% dry, they will rust. If I wash mine in water, I usually sit them back on a heated range top burner for a bit to make sure any excess water cooks off, then take them off the heat and let them cool completely before putting them away. If you’re tired of pans that promise to be stick free and easy to clean, but simply are not, try Lodge cast iron pans. I highly recommend the Lodge brand of cast iron pans. All cast iron pans are not equal.

    I have bought other iron skillets that were obviously a lower grade. This cast iron skillet has small pores and was well seasoned upon arrival. I had no trouble with food sticking at all. I love that the brush came with it. The additional handle on the opposite side make for easy lifting. I wish it came with a glass lid. I had to buy one separately. Whether I am frying chicken or baking cornbread, this works perfectly. No sticking and easy to clean.
