I loved the Pro Logic lids. They fit very well. The service was quick and both items were well packed. I would buy from this company again.

I have been cooking with cast iron for many years, and have a pretty big collection of cast iron cookware, most of it from LODGE. I have plenty of stainless steel cookware, too. But cast iron is my favorite and I have pieces that are more than forty years old and I’m sure they will last another forty years or more.About five years ago I purchased LODGE Pro-logic skillets in the 10″ and 12″ size. They did not come with lids, which didn’t really bother me as I have the traditional style of skillets in those sizes and they have lids. Apparently the Pro-logic line is now defunct but the exclusive to Amazon Bold line of skillets looks very similar. When I saw this lid, I had to try it and it is a perfect fit for my 10″ Pro-logic skillet. Now, I want the 12″ one too. This lid has a different design and is not meant to be interchangeable with the lids for the traditional LODGE 10″ skillets. I tried this lid on my traditional 10″ skillet, dutch oven and baker’s skillet and it fits just below the rim so it doesn’t seat properly, but I can still use it in a pinch. Of course, it seats well on the skillet it is designed to fit. The lid is heavy, with a strong, integrated handle, as I would expect for cast iron and it is very durable. Careful! The handle gets very hot — it is not like the lids for most cookware that can be lifted by a knob or handle without burning your fingers. Although, anyone shopping for just a cast iron lid probably already knows that. The lid is pre-seasoned and will only need a tiny bit of TLC to last for decades. I always hand-wash all of my cast iron, dry it with a towel, and leave it out until completely dry. I use a paper towel with just a tiny bit of oil and rub it into the surface of the cast iron (just enough to leave a sheen, not a visible layer of oil) and put them away. After doing this for the first few times, it only needs to be done occasionally. It is very hard to really ruin cast iron and it can always be stripped and re-seasoned if it hasn’t been taken care of properly and starts to rust…I like the design of the lid and the quality is top-notch as is true of all of my LODGE cookware. I think it is worth the price and the fact that it is made in the US is a plus.

This cast-iron lid is really heavy duty. It’s pretty heavy! It is the same quality as Lodge pans. I use this on my cast iron wood stove to heat up meals when I have a power outage. It works well and cleaning it is the same as cleaning a cast-iron pan. Great item.

An iron skillet without an iron lid is not making use of its full potential. It’s rare that in cooking, frying, stewing, etc., you don’t need a lid. While I do prefer the lower profile of older lids, this model will work.Pay no attention to “pre-seasoned” claims. You still need to season a cast iron anything the old way.

I’d been missing parts of cast-iron set after a hasty move, so I bought this lid as a replacement. And what can I say? It’s pretty great! It’s exactly the dimensions that it says, and even fits over may stainless steel pans perfectly.I didn’t have a hard time cleaning it, but I did notice some small imperfections out of the box that gave me some pause. Specifically, there were some spots around the outer rim of the lid where the cast iron had chipped* (?) or rather, left the metal underneath exposed. We have slightly hard water, but so far, these exposed parts haven’t rusted when exposed to moisture.I think the chipping may have occurred when it was shipped. In any case, it’s a nice addition to any cast iron set and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of it for a while.
