It’s a deep skillet, a fryer, a Dutch oven, and the lid converts to a shallow skillet or griddle. The lodge combo cooker is a versatile piece of cast iron cookware that allows the preparation of almost any recipe. Great for kitchen and outdoor cooking. If you’re looking for a great first piece of cast iron, the versatility of a deep skillet makes it a great option. They can do everything a traditional skillet can, but also excel at frying, stewing and even baking.

Use on all cooking surfaces, grills and campfires
Oven safe and campfire safe
Saute, sear, fry, bake and stir fry to heart’s content

Best kitchen item to have.
Bakes bread, pan pizzas, roasts meats, and good for deep frying, Excellent for cooking that requires very high temperatures. The “lid” is a good skillet. Keep it well seasoned and it rivals teflon pans for non-stick.The quality of construction is such that it can be passed down to the next generation! It is heavy though, but that is the price for retaining heat so effectively.

Great cooking results, cleaning is an issue
I’ve had this set for several months now. As planned, it has become the main way I cook. The manufacturing quality appears to be ok, but the results aren’t. Therefore I have my doubts about Lodge’s quality. A crack developed in the seasoning ( non-stick polymerised surface layer) early on, but I have managed to eliminate it now by careful attention to use of extra oil and re-seasoning.Overall, the seasoning of these pans is problematic, and it is still not good enough, despite constant use of oil and several all-day seasoning treatments. Eggs still stick every time, even despite using supplementary (olive) oil, and clean-ups are often a pretty physical workout. I also have to soak them more often than I think is reasonable.I’m not a stranger to cast iron pans. I’ve had better ones that didn’t stick like this, didn’t always need oil, and were a breeze to clean. Since I know how to season a pan, and I am experienced at using and maintaining them, I have to wonder if Lodge has cut corners on their quality of materials or manufacturing processes. They talk a good line and they charge a premium price, but these are definitely not the best pans I’ve ever had.The factory seasoning treatment is nice to have, but it’s only a start. I suspect it may actually be counter-productive, and maybe the root of the problem with the seasoning . As I say, I’ve had cast iron pans that were “slip and slide” non-stick, great on omelettes, and so on, so I think there is something second-rate going on with these pans. It would be helpful to compare these with their own product from decades ago, to see if they have in fact cut the quality now to make more money for themselves. I’d have no problem buying an old pan from an antique store, and maybe I should have.I bought an accessory scraper from Lodge, along with their recommended cleaning brush, but these turned out to be overpriced, harder to use, and not as effective as claimed. I think that these should be re-thought, upgraded and repriced. The nickel and dime overcharging for these items, plus their only marginal effectiveness, leaves the feeling (again) that this company is trying to max out their profitability, not to provide the best experience to their customers. It’s a shame, the company has a long history and a good reputation, but something is wrong here. I will continue to use the pans, since any cast iron pan should get better the more it’s used, but Lodge has lost an opportunity to impress me. I’d be open to replacing their product with something that works the way I am used to and that it is supposed to.

Beautiful
Although I returned this Lodge, it was everything I wanted except too heavy for me.I am a senior and wasn’t sure I would be able to use this in the years to come so opted for something more lightweight.

Great for baking sourdough bread
Got this combo to bake our sourdough bread and I have to stress for everyone…..this is a must have to bake great bread. Perfect size and perfect to use. And you can also use them as a normal cast iron skillet or wok. Great value and I’m so glad I got them.

Seriously damaged in shipping
Lodge products are excellent, but the box it arrived in was torn apart and badly damaged. The heavy skillet & frying pan were barely holding inside the box. There was no way I could gift this for Christmas. Being returned. The item was Sold and Shipped by Amazon so you cannot blame a 3rd party. I don’t believe it could get so badly damaged in a single delivery trip (next day delivery). So Amazon shipped out a product in a beat-up & broken box knowingly?
