Will use for life!
I love having 2 pans that fit together, so versatile. I love how these came pre-seasoned/sealed. Very easy to take care of. Great size to make stew in or fry eggs. I love that I can use it as a dutch oven too.

Another great product from Lodge!
This is my second purchase of Lodge cast iron products. This did not disappoint!I was looking for a dutch oven and initially I was going to purchase just that but came across this combo cooker. You get a mini skillet, deep pot, and dutch oven. The cover (skillet) goes on securely without wobble. The set has been great to cook with. Retains heat really well and food is cooked evenly. Clean up is also a breeze. Just water and some light scrubbing if needed and it is good to go.I have used the cover as a skillet on many occasions without issues. The dutch oven works well and I have made a few artisan bread with great results. Frying things up in the pot worked really well. So far this single purchase has replaced at least 3 other kitchen cookware that we own. This does come pre-seasoned from the factory but I find that it is not enough. So there are a couple of things you can do to help with it. The first is to cover it with your choice of oil and bake it at 350 in the oven for an hour. Let it cool off and then cook with it. You can repeat it twice if needed but I’ve found once is generally good enough. The other method I found worked really well is use it to fry up fatty foods. I used the skillet for bacon right off the bat and was able to establish a good non-stick coating. For the pot, I filled it up with oil and made some fried chicken with it. That also was good at establishing a non-stick coating.

The Pan/Dutch Oven for Any Budget or Beginner
I’ve owned it for a year and a half now, and it’s lasted through many a chilis, fries, bread bakes, and even a grease fire mishap. They’re of solid build, and the option to use the lid as a pan and vice/versa doubles your possibilities, making this a great option for those starting to get serious in the kitchen. I’ve taken care and not scuffed my glass stovetop, and there’s been no abnormal scrapes as a result of my stovetop cookings. The versatility of the lid & ability to swap to the oven from the stovetop, plus the overall cost makes this product a great recommendation to all!Minor downsides: since the lid operates as a cast-iron pan, using it as a lid can make the whole thing quite heavy, which may be an issue to some, especially with frequent use- a traditional cast iron/ceramic dutch oven is a little more limited in use but obviously lighter. The size is a bit too small to roast your average chicken in, but otherwise makes great portions of stew/beans/etc.

Great product, but poorly packaged
So if you’re buying lodge cast iron, you already know that its a fantastic product and there is nothing to add here. My review is about the packaging, which wasn’t up to scratch. The two pans come in a heavy duty carboard box, which is necessary because of the weight. The only thing separating the pans however is a piece of paper, which doesn’t completely stop the pans rubbing together in transit. When I opened my box, I found the pre-seasoning had chipped off in two places. Not the end of the world as its easy to re-season, but not what you’d expect from Lodge.

Cast Iron – The Cheapest, Easiest to Clean Lifetime Cookware Investment
My mother was proud of her enameled cast iron Dutch Ovens. She got them late in life, but they sort of lasted for over twenty years, until her death. Why “sort of lasted?” Within a few years the enamel was chipped and worn. The non-stick feature was gone, and they were much more difficult to clean, even though they still were still great for cooking. This is why I chose plain old cast iron. If you wear, or chip through the seasoning, it takes very little to restore it to an ‘as new’ condition. Another benefit is you can use lifetime metal utensils with plain cast iron. Clean up of properly seasoned cast iron is a snap. I simply use a stiff brush under hot water, dry with low heat on the stove, and wipe with an oiled cloth.

Lodge always produces great value and products.
What can I say…..Lodge has great products at an always fair price. Its pretty amazing that you can have a whole cast iron dutch oven for under $100.The package arrived on time and in good shape. I would advise to take the current seasoning off of it by washing it then seasoning it yourself nicely and evenly before using it. I would recommend this with any cast iron products. If you keep the seasoning up well and really look after the pieces post use this is a product that will last you years and year and years. My dad still has cast iron pans from the 50’s.Don’t hesitate on any cast iron products by Lodge. They always seem to have great pricing for high quality.

High recommend
This is a really good item for my needs. I use the deep pan for wok and lid pan for making pancakes. They are working great. Be careful with the very first several times using, they could be very stick if you do not use it in the correct way. However, you always have a chance to re-season it. Some parts of the edge do not build very well, otherwise, they are sturdily made and look beautiful. High recommend.

Nice build quality smooth finish
The cast iron is of high quality built good smooth surface doesn’t come pre seasoned so you have to do that on your own it’s nice heavy and cooks well it’s almost non stick if you season it 3 to 4 times properly before using it . Cleaning is definitely a nightmare for any cast iron but the durability well this baby will outlast your lifetime plus more lifetimes if you take care of it , definitely something you can pass on from generation to generation.
