Got is used
I got this cute mini-wok used and returned by someone for a low price, so I knew what to expect. It was rusty, with chipped off seasoning in places, its bottom was scratching surfaces it stood on which is a no-no for my ceramic cooktop, etc. In my view, those are minor things, nothing that 15 min of scrubbing with sanding paper and a coat of seasoning oil won’t cure. So, I just did that and the wok is simply perfect. It has a perfect semispherical shape, pitch black and shiny non-stick surface, and it heats up and holds heat very well. I purchased a 9″ domed lid for it separately here, on Amazon. The wok weighs 2.3 kg and its volume is 2L, enough for a soup or a stew for 3 people, or a stir fry and other rice dishes for 2. It is perfect for fried eggs, scrambled eggs and omelets and for steaming food. Nothing sticks to it when I fry or deep fry, of course, but I am not new to cast iron either. I don’t fry that much, so I won’t use it daily, but I definitely fell in love with its beauty and performance. Well done, Lodge! Well done.

Everyone Needs One!
Everyone should have one of these … it is an absolutely fanstastic piece of cookware. It is incredibly versatile –especially if you get the lid.If works great as a small wok but it works very well as a medium sized sauce pan or as a roasting dish for the oven. I’ve even used it to make deserts! The cast iron is pretty thick and has an extra-thick bottom. It is well seasonned and easy to maintain … I accidentally stripped mine while making a rhubarb cobbler and it was easy to reseason.

Best thing I have bought yet
Just made some Nasi Goring and eating it straight out of this cool little Wok, especially with rice it stays hot. Easily big enough for 4 meals and small enough for a single person, plus Made in America.

Love this Wok
The wok is actually pretty small – perfect for 1 or 2 servings. The quality is perfect, non-stick as promised (I did season it when I received it), easy to clean, surprisingly heavy for its small size and all around perfect. It heats up very quickly as the bottom is obviously smaller than the top and keeps the food nice and hot. I’ve been using to make scrambled eggs with vegetables as it heats so quickly, I can have a healthy meal within 10 minutes or less. I would recommend this if you need a small wok.

Not what you think…
Small and heavy, this is really a 1 person wok (maybe 2 small eaters). It is really a deep bowl, rather than a mini wok, as the sides are much steeper than any other cast iron woks on the market. Keep this in mind, if your dish requires a cool staging area, as everything will always be falling directly into the sear zone. I prefer using my cheap low profile 12″ made in China wok over the Lodge even for small meals. But the Lodge mini does shine at one particular task….Other reviewers have mentioned it makes for an excellent deep fry setup, and this is where it excels over its larger 14″ brother. The steeper sides, allow for a reasonable oil depth, yet because it’s taller than a fry pan there is less splatter. The bowl shape, allows for easy steam escape, so you won’t have any cooling down issues with the oil. The small size, makes the mini wok an ideal companion for a larger wok while on the stove top.The Lodge mini wok is my goto wok for deep frying period. On an induction stove top, half full of oil, it can comfortably hold a temp of 375 degrees, and fry 6-9 chicken wings with ease. Dumplings, fries, nuggets, you name it whatever – and this wok does a great job of holding the smallest amount of oil needed to just get the job done. The conical shape, makes for a proper sediment basin, as all the gunk collects nicely on the bottom making oil decanting easier.Like all modern cast iron products, even the mighty USA made Lodge has a crappy rough finish. Just like my 14″ wok, I ground out the interior so it was smooth, and re-built up the seasoning. The base was also not perfectly flat, so it needed to be touched up with a belt sander. There probably isn’t a market for a premium naked cast iron utensils anymore – but compared to what they made 100 years ago, today’s stuff is miles behind in fit and finish. This is why the Lodge just gets 4 stars instead of 5. It can be soooo much better with just a little more machining. For a small wok it seems pricey, but when making a complex dish that requires a deep fry portion, the Lodge earns its keep.

Great wok for making one or two servings on an electric stove. Holds heat and concentrates it in the center for making stir fries. Too heavy to toss so I use a large metal serving spoon, and it works great to keep everything moving. Great browning and keeping food in the oil to brown properly without having to fill the entire pan.It is small, which is a benefit if that is what you are looking for…great for putting on smaller burners and still getting enough heat.

I just love it.

Lodge cast iron pan is good but you need to take care of it. It should be washed and dried and then lightly oiled or else rust forms and you make think the product is not good. I love using this mini wok

Very compact and good quality pan. Very easy to clean and versatile. Have already bought two and will not hesitate to buy again. Does not rust if well maintained as advised by seller.

Excellent and heavy build quality- perfect for frying or sauté. Evenly distribute the heat and cooks well. Proper seasoning and Post wash care is must to avoid rusting
