In a small town on the Tennessee River circa the 1890s, Joseph Lodge started a cast iron cookware foundry using a special metal formula and precision molds to produce the finest skillets. This Lodge skillet is made with an exacting wall thickness for best heat retention, most even heating and durability. An essential for chefs and home cooks alike, the skillet is seasoned to a beautiful black patina with 100% vegetable oil for a healthy approach to nonstick cooking. Rinse with hot water. Fun, cute!
Years back, I was fortunate enough to have a hi-end gas stove/range, at which time I started to buy various Lodge utensils. Nothing is better than gas for cooking, nothing is better than cast iron. Now, after a separation, I no longer have the gas, but I still have the lodge cookware, to which I just added this as a fancy. It is really cute, kind of pointless because you can only do one item (sandwich, omelet, whatever) at a time, but really fun nonetheless. Ideal if you are cooking just for you. It is great for quickie breakfast bits . . .Like anything Lodge makes, it is excellent . . . and if cared for properly, will last forever. Cast iron, if used properly is far superior to anything else for cooking. It’s heat retention (and consistency) is a huge plus when you are cooking. There are other cast iron manufacturers out there, most of who dress up their cookware with enamel coatings which look really fine, but are a double edged sword. They cost a fortune compared to bare cast iron . . . a lot of people will foolishly scrub the surfaces aggressively with a scouring pad, thus putting minute scratches into the surface and making it LESS non-stick, and finally, they are little more than a fashion show for your kitchen. Colour is nice, but honestly, a bare cast iron Lodge pan will do it for a fraction of the cost, and with less maintenance. The money you save will buy other pans, or a few bottles of excellent wine ;-)All in all, another great product from Lodge (I just ordered their wedge cornbread skillet also).I recommend that anyone who enjoys the kitchen try cast iron if you haven’t yet. You won’t be disappointed. Finally, anyone who is using a mix of pans, i.e. other materials that usually have insulated handles, BUY a dedicated silicone grip for your cast iron . . . otherwise you will probably spend suppertime in the ER having burns attended to. The handles get hot, and if you are used to grabbing your t-fal or whatever, it is only a matter of time before you burn yourself . . . get silicone grips

Lodge cast iron. Can’t go wrong.
Very small cast iron skillet. Good for melting butter, making one egg, grilling one cheese sandwich.

perfect for sandwiches
This thing is great! Not only perfect size for frying things to go in a sandwich, but it even comes pre-seasoned so you can use it right away. And cast iron can be used on any type of stove or even on an open fire.

Used every morning for eggs
Wondering pan that make perfect double fried eggs in a cute square shape. Once seasoned, it is none stick. The eggs just glide off the pan.

Would recommend.
Excellent product. Bought it for making Japanese rolled omelet. It works better than the special Japanese omelet pan I bought That I spent twice as much for.

Not returnable
Every thing sticks even though well buttered and very difficult to clean up.

Too small and too lightweight
Disappointed as it is a Lodge. I was refused a return on this. ๐

This little Lodge cast iron skillet is a gem. Perfectly sized for individual meals, it’s ideal for frying eggs, paninis, or even a single serving of fajitas. The pre-seasoning is excellent, and the skillet heats evenly. It’s also surprisingly heavy for its size, which helps with heat retention. This is a fantastic addition to any kitchen, especially if you’re short on counter space.

It’s been a few days now, I bought this Lodge pan for Rs. 1399. I love to eat and cook “bread omllete” and for me it’s the best pan for cooking one. In past I’ve tried cheap so called non-stick pans from brands like “Nirlep” & “Tosa”. But it is a real pain to cook in them as they are extremely thin. But this one is very solid and if you take little bit of care it can last for generations and will get better as you use it. Go to YouTube to learn about how to take care of cast iron pans. One can use it on gas stove, oven, induction and even on camp fire (Off course you don’t want use metal in a microwave). Will buy more cast iron cookware in future.I’m a little bit disappointed with the packaging as it was not packed in a box and there was no bubble wrap up around it.
