Customers say
Customers find the sauté fry pan a good size for cooking meals for one person. They appreciate its nice appearance and matte finish. The pan is durable and can cook small side dishes. However, some customers feel the dimensions are misleading, as they include the handles.

Perfect for Mini Dutch Babies
I specifically got the mini cast iron pan for making mini Dutch Babies and it worked perfectly for that! As others have noted, this is a small pan so pay attention to the dimensions and make sure it’s what you want. In my opinion, this pan would be ideal for dinner party or brunch situations where you want to serve each person an individual portion in its own pan. It’s a nice looking pan and would be totally cute in that context. It also works for making “dinner for one” skillets, or very small side dishes.

Love this and will buy more
Loving these. Perfect size for individual portions. So far have made individual breakfast skillets in them and individual fajitas. On the pricy side but worth it. I will be buying more soon. Make for a very sexy dinner plating for guests.

Pan
It’s a very nice cute little pan. I only wish the bottom of the pan was smooth like another reviewer said about this pan or another small Lodge one!!This pan cooks a nice cooked salsa of tomatoes, garlic, onions, chiles and/or hot sauce. Then you blend it with water to the consistency you want.Good for cooking for one person. Also good to use in the Airfryer!

Handy small cast iron pan for camping
Great little pan for our Coleman camping stove oven. We use these to make Serious Eats pan pizza when we’re camping, and they’re also great for things like fajita fillings.

Single-Serve Skillet, Very Versatile
SIZE – Almost like a ramekin than a skillet. Photos in the description are deceiving and hard to scale. In practical terms, it’s volume or capacity is: 10 stacked CDs, 1 cup of liquid (12 oz or 1 “Tall” Starbucks), two regular sized potatoes (mashed), 2 large eggs omelette. For dimensions, I can also easily pop two of these skillets in a countertop toaster. Single-serve portions.USABILITY – Conducts heat really well, and therefore I’ve used it for baking potato gratin (1 fist-sized Yukon thinly sliced potato + cream); omelette (just cover the top); frying vienna or english sausages (diameter not enough for bratwurst); make fried rice until it forms a socarrat or heat-up a paella left-over (see photo)MAINTENANCE – It’s pre-treated. Was able to use it for over a month of 2-3 times / week before needing to be greased up again. Requires a quick pat-down after washing or just let it dry on a heated stove top.COOKING – Saute with care! Best for eggs.QUALITY – It’s good durable cast iron with a nice matte finish.

For all you induction cooktop users, the bottom diameter is….
I considered this (HMSRD) skillet to use on an induction cooktop. My cooktop requires a vessel that has a minimum 5″ diameter bottom contact surface. So if the bottom of a cast iron pan is less than 5″ then no worky! To my dismay, neither Lodge nor Amazon specifically publishes this dimension.I emailed Lodge C/S asking for the outside bottom diameter and waited. Then I got the bright idea to simply call one of the TN stores and see if there was one on the shelf someone could flip over and measure. The gal who answered my phone call, found a pan in the store and said the measurement was 6″ so I ordered the pan from Amazon.Five days later, Lodge C/S replied; the measurement is 4.625″ |:-The pan just arrived this afternoon. The bottom diameter is 5″ and yes, it activates my induction cooktop.

Perfect for a meal for one
Love these for camping. I put these right into the coals, they fit nicely onto a camp stove, and they are perfect size to cook a meal for one.

Great little single serve pan
I love this little cast iron pan. Great for single serve meals and fits perfectly in my Ninja Foodi.

It is a “one person pan”; I cook 2 eggs for breakfast, very practical.

Mi serviva proprio un tegame di queste dimensione per il mio weber kettle 47 in modo da non togliere troppo spazio alla superficie per grigliare. Poi la qualità lodge non si discute. Controllate bene le dimensioni prima di acquistare.

If you’re single, and looking for an easy, delicious meal cooked from cast iron but don’t want to make an entire dish—these are your new friend!!!!When it comes to size comparison, you could probably fit 1lb of dry elbow noodles in it—I normally just line the bottom with about 1/2 a cup. They work great in the oven, I cook homemade mac & cheese in them for myself all the time and it’s literally restartaunt quality both looks and tasteI havent had any issues with one side getting hotter than the other, the heat distributes very evenly. It’s cast iron, so cleaning is all up to what you cook! I don’t have any issues though

I love all the Lodge Cast Iron skillets, grill pans and these bakers. They are the perfect size for your sides of potatoes, vegetables, mac & cheese, desserts or other foods. Being cast iron, the baker will definitely keep the food hot, longer. And being cast iron, care must be taken when handling or placing on any table or other surface, protection is required. Comes pre-seasoned, however, with each use the seasoning will get better. Cleanup is a breeze with water (only) or water and mild detergent is fine. To re-season, after cleaning, heat the baker and add a drop of olive oil. Wipe with paper towel and let cool. Lodge is the best, and cast iron lasts a lifetime.

Really well made. Works brilliantly in the high heat of a barbecue. Will outlast me!
