This 3.6 Quart enamel covered casserole is great for cooking, marinating, refrigeration and freezing. The color porcelain enamel on cast iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops, as well as in the oven. Not recommended for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor flames. Not for use in microwaves. Lodge Color Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron cookware is cast from molten iron in individual sand molds. The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season cast iron. The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating bottom sidewalls and even the lid. Tightly fitting lid seals in moisture. The excellent heat retention reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking. Two layers of very hard, glossy porcelain enamel are chip resistant and easy to clean. Lid knob is oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The black rim on the pot is matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron. Hygienic porcelain enamel is non-reactive with food. Although dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water is recommended to preserve the cookware’s original appearance. 11 3/4″ diameter, 2 1/8″ deep. Complete item measures 14.4″ x 12.55″ x 3.4″. Oyster White.

She’s a beauty, she’s thick and she’s tough!
LOVE this casserole pan so much. I used it at least 4 times a week. It’s beautiful, durable and versatile. I made cornbread, chicken cassoulet, fried fish, pasta etc. It’s very easy to clean.I already have a dutch oven but it’s more like a pot so the side is high. This one is perfect for searing steak or a cassoulet that needs to brown in the oven after.Best purchase!

Great pan – quickly becoming our go-to pan
We are big believers in cast iron pans and decided to try this Lodge pan (we have a Lodge Dutch Oven and love it). This pan is great in a few ways. My girlfriend loves it for the cooking properties and even heat distribution, easily goes from the stove top to the oven. I love it because it cleans up so easily. We have seared meat, fried, cooked fish, pork, chicken they all cleaned up in seconds. It is cast iron, so if you don’t dry it properly the exposed area’s will rust and fast – we dry it and throw it back on the burner, on high for a minute to get any water we missed. It is quite heavy, but that is what makes it good. 100% recommend

Perfect size for everyday use!
I have a full size Dutch oven and love it. I wasn’t sure if getting this one would be overkill but decided to give it a go. I am so happy I did! I use it so much. It is the perfect size for cooking chicken and pork tenderloin….you can sear it on the stovetop then pop it in the oven to finish! Great quality, cleans up easily. Not as heavy as the full size Dutch oven so I find it is my go to for a lot of meals.

Love it!
Gorgeous dutch oven. I am a big fan of Lodge for the quality and price. I waited a long time for a 3qt to return in the oyster colour and it was worth the wait. I was expecting it to be half the height of the 6qt but has a much wider diameter, making it ideal for pan roasting veggies, making risotto and paella. I use it daily and it has replaced my usual baking dish and my frying pan!

Elegant and Functional Casserole. Affordable Enamel ceramic kitchenware.
Bought it to test some recipes in a Lodge enamel products made in China. The Good: Priced well, looks good and the Oyster White Finish is very pleasing to the eyes. Easy to clean, I use it for cooking paella style Vegetarian rice, butter chicken and Marinated steaks. You can use it to cook & serve food. The Bad: it doesn’t matter if I use Butter, canola oil or olive oil to cook, there is always some food that sticks to the bottom on ceramic surface, more than I expected. Still Food tastes good and easy to clean; just let it cool before washing it.The Ugly: There is a small manufacturing defect in the finish on the top edge, Evident when Cooking there is a small gap that lets vapor out. It’s nit picking and does not warrant a return. The finish is 99% ok.Still highly recommended if you are on a budget and can’t afford a French made Dutch oven style like LeCreuset or Staub.4 stars out of 5.

I bought this 3.6 quart braising pan used in “Good” condition. I knew this meant it might be damaged in some way, but couldn’t find any specifics. Nonetheless, it was a good price, and I was unsure if this large cast-iron pan was really what I wanted, but I wanted to try it out. Apparently “good” means extensive chipping around the edges of the lid and on the handles. The “Caribbean Blue” color is a nice sky blue grading into darker navy, though it’s not as vibrant as the photos online suggest (not just on Amazon- everywhere). But I actually do like the color, and the pan cooks beautifully. I don’t mind the chipping too much as it’s purely cosmetic and otherwise I got a great pan for around $50. I knew what I might be getting into, so no stars deducted. Still, let the buyer beware- “good” is definitely more “meh” than “great”.I’m using this on an induction cooktop. I received an Always Pan for Christmas that didn’t quite work- the Always Pan has a small “foot” that keeps it from making full contact with an induction burner, so while it technically worked only the center of the pan was properly hot. This cast-iron pan is completely flat on the bottom, makes complete contact and thus has a great big flat cooking surface. The enamel cleans up easily and should be much more durable than non-stick. Making a meal in it is a pleasure, with plenty of room to maneuver whatever I’m browning. If you were wondering, the bottom half of the 3.6 qt braising pan weighs 6 lbs, and the lid weighs 6 lbs. That’s heavy, but manageable for me. My husband isn’t a fan of big heavy pans (hence not wanting to spend a ton of money testing one out), but as a compromise I bought a cabinet storage rack especially for it. He warmed up to the heavy pan a little once I made it easy to put away!

it is very aesthetic! the only down side is that it is really heavy

Product arrived without the enamel chipping off, assuming this has been a common delivery complaint. The casserole/braiser is justifiably heavyweight for the kind of wear and tear it needs to take (10-12 kg with lid on).The pan needs no pre-seasoning, but slowly heating up a dash of oil at 140 degrees Celsius and reducing heat to 100-120 degrees Celsius during cooking would be ideal. Keep the lid on when reducing heat to get the best results. With the lid on, the pan does a great job even at 80 degrees Celsius, sealing in the flavours of the food, particularly meat, incredibly well. When it comes to choosing between a burnt casserole bottom and cleaning-up headaches after a blockbuster meal, you might prefer working with lesser heat and avoid the pain of scraping of residues from the pan bottom.Patience is the key while using an enamelled cast iron Dutch oven for braising — a task which it executes astoundingly well. And, the results are as good as that of a Le Creuset or Staub pan, which cost four times as much as the Lodge enamelled cast iron casserole.Again, remember that food runs the risk of burning and forming scar residue on the pan bottom at temperatures exceeding 200 degrees Celsius. The cast iron retains heat incredibly well when transitioning to lower heat levels, so exceeding 200 degrees while cooking is not required in any scenario. That makes the Lodge casserole a great energy saver as well. The vessel is incredibly easy to clean if treated right. Use baking soda and hot water to clean stubborn dirt, if any. I use Frosch baking soda spray and a sponge-based scrubber, which yields equally good results.
