Lodge CRS10 Seasoned Carbon Steel Skillet, 10″
Lodge Carbon Steel Skillets are factory seasoned with natural soy bean oil. This easy release oil finish improves with use. The heavy gauge carbon steel maintains very low and very high temperatures, making the pan a highly effective and versatile cooking piece. It’s brutally tough and takes high heat for browning and searing. Carbon steel performs exceptionally well in residential kitchens and is actually preferred in professional kitchens. Lodge Carbon Steel skillets also work extremely well with outdoor cooking sources.Dimensions: 10″ dia.
12 gauge carbon steel
Preseasoned with vegetable oil
Steel riveted handle
Made in the USA
Customers say
Customers find the saute fry pan easy to clean and season. They appreciate its high heat retention and handle that doesn’t get hot quickly. Many consider it a great pan, though some have issues with rust resistance and stickiness. There are mixed opinions on the weight.

My everyday pan, it’s not perfect but still 5 stars
I have more expensive deBuyer pans that are thicker and smooth. I got lodge to try something different and I love it from day one. It heats up much faster than french pans and it comes pre-seasoned. I didn’t season the pan just start using it. I can see factory coating is disappearing and pan is more brown, not black but nothing sticks to it, even egg yes I tried an egg and it didn’t stick. It doesn’t slide like on smooth pans but didn’t stick. It’s an amazing pan for pancakes. When it heats up its not flat but it’s not that bad, works well on my induction cooktop. 10 inch is little small to cook for a big family but perfect to prep vegetables for like omlet or something else. I’m waiting for 12″ to go on sale and thinking to get another 10″ for outdoors.

Great frying pan
I like this pan. Had one at work and enjoyed the high heat retention, so thought of buying for home. Used it for an egg and the egg tuck to the pan, but the second and third one was fine. I suggest to make sure to heat up the pan first and add a nice coating of oil to prevent that. Overall, I can’t wait to cook more with it, I would love to see how it stands with the patina I can create with it.

Great pan
Works as expected , easy to clean , requires seasoning periodically. Definitely non stick but requires some kind of oil to maintain its non stick abilities

Sturdy enough to defend yourself with.
Well made and sturdy. I love Lodge products, but only after I’ve stripped, sanded, buffed and re-seasoned them. Once that’s done, they compare to far more expensive products.

Carbon steel seal was peeling off on rim of pan and rusted! Twice!
Was looking for a lighter-weight cast iron skillet for camping and thought this would be perfect. I don’t know if it’s bad luck, however, my first skillet was peeling and rusted. I asked for a replacement and the second one was worse!

Good product, heavy carbon steel frying pan. Only one remark: seasoning is not perfect the center of the pan seasoning gives away partially at the first usage. I suggest to repeat the seasoning at least once before using the pan.

Pannans vikt är bra, liksom behandlingen den har genomgått, den är idealisk om du vet hur den ska användas och underhållas.Jag skulle köpa den igen utan att tveka.

Get the nice big silicone handle from Lodge and you’ve got a fantastic quality non-stick pan combo. I love cast iron, but this steel is equally good without the added weight. Has become my favourite pan for sure. It comes pre-seasoned, but also is a tad rough. After using it for a while, is now totally non-stick and a pleasure to use.

I had high hopes for this product especially being an owner of several Lodge cast iron products. Received the carbon steel skillet tonight and attempted the egg test. The pan appeared to be seasoned well per factory seasoning process like the other cast iron items I’ve received (no chips or dings). I added a generous amount of olive oil and let it heat a while on medium (gas burner). Cracked the egg and dropped it in and it stuck to the pan almost immediately. I’ve uploaded some photos of the egg’s journey…# Pros- Lighter than cast iron- Rugged, and will be used on a campfire and grill- Should last a lifetime- Long handle# Cons- Nothing like the cast iron which passes the egg tests on first use- Price, more expensive than the cast iron but performed the worst on initial cookI will be scrubbing down the pan and re-seasoning it myself since other reviews mentioned the same problem I faced. The cast iron items get better with use so I’m hoping the same thing. First impression cooking with is pan was horrible. Hopefully I can update this review and increase the stars since I’m a huge fan of Lodge.# Update 2017-03-22I’ve had to bump it up from 3 to 4 stars. Second time using the pan, the egg did not stick! I had scrubbed it down with a chainmail scrubber and re-seasoned the pan on the stove top and not the oven. I added a light coat of vegetable oil to the entire pan after washing it. Then placed it on the stove top with high heat setting until it started smoking. I reduced the heat to medium and allowed it to cook in some more. I wiped down the pan after it cooled down. Then I heated it up again, added a little olive oil and cooked an egg that didn’t stick. I’ve uploaded more photos of the 2nd time cooking an egg with this pan. I’m a very happy customer and will update this review as I use this pan more.# Update 2017-03-26I’ve had to bump it up from 4 to 5 stars. This carbon steel pan has become my favorite frying pan in the kitchen! My first impression cooking with this item was poor due to the factory seasoning. After using it several times and washing it properly, it’s non-stick and works amazing. It’s now my go-to egg pan. The factory seasoning seems to only help with actual continued seasoning. I’m pretty sure the factory seasoning is there just to keep it from rusting and it provides the new black finish look without the toxic metals/chemicals and paint that most non-stick frying pans come with. I haven’t ran into issues that other people have reported with the warping issue. I use a gas range and heat the pan up on high with the biggest burner and experienced no warping. I noticed my pan has started to build up a nice patina with only several uses. For those who are experienced with carbon steel know what a good patina does and how it helps to prevent rusting. I’m very happy with this purchase and will be ordering the 12 inch pan soon. Next and final test will be using it at the campfire!
