I bought this small unit for cooking steel cut oats overnight. The size is great for 1-2 people, but I was surprised that it has only one temperature, which is HOT. This probably works very well for something you’re heating up or keeping warm for a relatively short time (fudge sauce, queso, cheese fondue) but it is NOT good for overnight/6-8 hour cooking. It just gets too hot. I am returning.

Too small, no on and off switch, no temperature control

The KOOC Small Slow Cooker is truly small, making it ideal for keeping nacho cheese, sauces, or dips warm rather than for actual cooking. One of its best features is the thick ceramic inner pot, which feels much higher quality than the cheap aluminum inserts found in some mini cookers. The elegant design means you can take the ceramic pot straight to the table without it looking out of place. The lid fits well on the inner pot, so you can refrigerate leftovers directly in it.However, there are a couple of drawbacks. There’s no on/off switch, meaning you have to plug and unplug it manually, and it lacks temperature control. In my test, it took over 30 minutes to heat 1 cup of room-temperature water to 120°F, so it’s definitely slow. I personally use it for keeping food warm rather than for cooking. If that’s what you need, it works well, but don’t expect fast heating or adjustable settings.

This mini slow cooker is perfect for making small portions of soup or dips. It heats evenly and is easy to clean, which is a huge plus. The only downside is that it doesn’t have adjustable temperature settings, so it’s either on or off. It’s a great little appliance for small households or for keeping sauces warm during parties.

I have always liked the slow cooked texture and flavor, but often decided against actually doing it because I perceived it as a bulk meal preparation, measured in multiple quarts! So this product intrigued me. In terms of what you get, this single serving sized electric crock pot has a removable ceramic container inside and a glass top, similar to the old style. Stiff cord, no on/off switch or varied heat settings, no timer, so it’s Plug in for On, unplug for Off. The temperature of the inside of the ceramic insert was approximately 167 degrees Fahrenheit after an hour and a half (or so) on. Otherwise, it does what you’d expect – cooks things slow and “Crock-Pot” style.
