Super easy
I bought this because I have a new Instant Pot and haven’t a clue what to do with it. I’ve just had a chance to glance through this book, but I think it will be really useful. I love Indian food and I make it quite often, usually for friends so I prepare several dishes for a meal. It’s very labour-intensive. Not difficult, just a lot of preparation. But I see lots of time-saving tips here. And good recipes for basic ingredients like garam masala, as well as very basic recipes I can adjust in a variety of ways. If you’re new to Indian cuisine, this a good, basic primer.

Well Worth Purchasing For The Butter Chicken Recipe Itself
I’ve only tried one recipe so far (the Butter Chicken on pg. 98) and it was a hit with the group of 3 that I made it for (2 are fussy eaters). Very tasty, very easy and no special, far flung ingredients required. Although it takes only 10 minutes of pressure cooking, the total time was about an hour and a quarter (I allowed a lot of time for sauce to cool down and then a lot of time on the Saute setting to reheat after blitzing the sauce). This was very easy to make too and so nice that cleanup is a breeze. Looking forward to trying more recipes but the book was well worth buying for this butter chicken recipe alone.Update May/2018: Since writing my initial review, I’ve also tried the recipes for Pork Saag and Kheema Nariyal Saag, both were very delicious. Tonight it’s Chicken Vindaloo and I’m expecting this to be a winner too. Recipes are very easy to work with, can’t recommend this cookbook enough 🙂 Downside: My husband isn’t a fan of Indian food so I can’t go through the cookbook as quickly as I’d like 😉

great easy recipes. not enough photos
I like an opportunity to cook INDIAN with my instant pot. makes it pretty fast but taste like it’s been cooking for hours with all those spices…I just wish there was more photos , but since Indian food looks like mush often, I understand why. The price is right though…so only 4 pages of pics.

Excellent gift!
Our daughter will soon be married a a wonderful East Indian man and since she works odd hours as a train conductor, this will help them enjoy authentic East Indian cuisine but quickly & easily with her schedule! Made a fantastic Christmas gift and we HIGHLY recommend the spiral bound copy as it lies perfectly flat on the counter top for easy reading while preparing the meal.

Simple, straightforward recipes with excellent results
Simple, straightforward recipes with excellent results. We have made 5 or 6 recipes (several times) thus far and will make many more as all have been well received at our family table, by young and old. While we have cooked Indian food before, we often found the flavour of various dishes (using other cookbooks) to be very similar (or the same) in flavour. What strikes us most about these recipes is that each is a stand-alone in flavour and texture. We’ve had our IP for less than a year and use it 1~3 times / week. While I owned the book a good while before we started using, it is now the one I’m reaching for most often for the IP. The herbs / spices are readily found in a chain supermarket and are worthwhile additions to your collection if you don’t own them already. The author includes both the Indian name for the dish as well as English, and a brief introduction, for all which we enjoy. This is the book I recommend most to friends new to IP or those considering purchasing an IP.

I reach for it often
I really think if I didn’t have this book, I wouldn’t use my instapot so often. Some of these recipes have become staples in our house. It is highly recommended. There are a lot of recipes that do not require an instapot, but that’s okay. It means I reach for it more often. All of the masala’s, chutney’s and spice blends are delicious. The Aloo Jeera is to die for. However, the portions are way off. Is she feeding gerbils? We pretty well double everything, and I’m only cooking for two. Some of the recipes tend to trigger your “burn” indicator, so be watchful. Overall, this is a great book and I’m so glad I bought it.

Pretty good
Good looking, good quality cookbook with some exciting recipes. Havent made anything yet but the recipes and ingredients seem doable. A bit disappointed by how few pictures there are.. For someone that is not super familiar with Indian recipes, I would have liked more pictures so I know what it’s supposed to look like. There is one illustration after approximately every 5-7 recipes

and I can say with absolute honesty that not only is this the best Indian food I’ve ever made
I’ve tried a handful of this book’s recipes, and I can say with absolute honesty that not only is this the best Indian food I’ve ever made, it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. This is a well written book, easy to follow and with a good variety of dishes. I decided to pick it up after trying a recipe from the author’s website. It wasn’t a recipe I had a lot of initial faith in – blend some veg and spices, dump over meat in the instant pot, turn on and voila! Beef curry. But I had to see if it would work because it sure would be fantastic if it was that easy. Turns out it’s that easy! So good! If you have an instant pot, I highly recommend you get this book. It’s an amazing addition to anyone’s culinary arsenal.

Having bought the book on a Kindle daily deal, I found the approach of a sub-set of the key spices and dals, very clear instructions and a manageable number of recipes appealing. So, I ordered an Instant Pot on another daily deal (I am sure other makes would also work perfectly well) and tried one of the recipes. I do not eat Indian food at all frequently, but I didn’t find the dish anywhere near the best I have eaten. A friend with a lot of experience of making Indian food suggested the spicing level in the recipes is perhaps a bit low, and so worth experimenting. Anyway, I will continue to work through the recipes, given that they are quick and easy, and I know what ingredients are in them. So, for me, it has been a painless entry to making some Indian dishes, and I am thankful to the author for her efforts and approach.
