Almost as good an invention as sliced bread!
The silicone mesh mats fit my old bamboo steamers perfectly! Also, can be cut down in size. Over many years, I have patiently cut small pieces of parchment paper on which to place dumplings, etc., in order to avoid sticking to the steamer bottom. However, here we have a much more practical solution! I also use square mats, exactly the same silicone variety, on my dehydrator trays.

Great for steaming without parchment
The reusable steamer liners are great. I’ve tried them twice now since I’ve purchased them and each time I’ve had no problems washing them. They are non-stick and release the buns very easily. They do leave a small waffle impression on the bottom of the buns.What I like the most about the steamer mats is that I no longer need to cut and use parchment paper for the bun bottoms. It’s much easier to simply place the buns on the mats and allow them to rise.I’d recommend them.

May add an unpleasant texture to the bottom of steamed buns
Has eliminated the need to cleanup dough seeping into the steamer ridges. Durable and easy to clean.Leaves a grid texture on the bottom of steamed buns that is much harder/drier than without the liner. Was hoping to to be able to save and only use the liner, but use of parchment paper in addition to the liner is necessary.

These are 11″ in diameter and fit our steamer perfectly. We will probably only use for rice and it worked well. Seems durable enough but there are several if you have multiple layers or they wear out eventually.

It’s very nice for steaming sticky rice, sticky flour cake. Food does not stick to the mat at all! I really like it!

I purchased bc I purchased a steamer & wanted to use for rice & quinoa but the steamer bottom holes were large & let it go through. So instead of getting another steamer ( because I loved the one I got) I bought these AND THEY ARE PERFECT. Just what I needed to make this steamer great.

These liners do provide a non-stick surface for steaming food in a bamboo steamer. They are easy to clean and reusable, which is convenient for reducing waste and saving money in the long run. However, I found that the mesh material of the liners is not as durable as I had hoped. After just a few uses, some of the liners began to show signs of wear and tear, with small tears appearing in the mesh 🙁

I used to use parchment paper and cut small holes to let the steam pass through. But these reusable steamer liners made everything a lot easier. It not only lets my dumplings steam without a problem, but I don’t have to deal with cleaning messes or sticky dumpling wrapper on my bamboo steamer.
