Very happy with this replacement for my Charge 5
I’ve used a charge 5 for the past two years as I steadily improved my fitness but gradually became fed up with a software bug that prompted me to change. I’m retired in my early 70’s and, while I’ve always been reasonably fit, I decided two years back to try to get back to near the levels of my younger years. So using the Charge 5 to track my efforts I started daily 6km walks where I gradually increased my pace. After about a year I started running segments and that’s where the problems began. I was using the “auto-walk” feature and found that when I had run a certain amount in a given session the device changed to “auto-run” and in so doing it discarded the stats I had already accumulated on that session. I tried to solve this by turning off all the auto features, but auto-run would not turn off no matter what I did. Surely this is a software bug that became increasingly annoying and made it impossible to compare my progress with my history. After spending several months trying to cope with this I decided the aggravation was too much and wanted to change.I chose the Huawei Band 7 device because I thought the company was large enough to hopefully produce well designed software and I really wanted an app that compared favorably to the Fitbit app. Before purchasing I verified that the auto-run feature of the device could be turned off. Although simply turning it off in settings would not guarantee that it was really off as I found with the Charge 5, I was hopeful. As it turns out, the Huawei works very well and tracks my mixed walk/run with no problems. The app, while completely different from the Fitbit app, is very well designed with lots of excellent displays and stats. The screen on the Band 7 is slightly larger than the Charge 5 and I prefer the excellent watch faces that Huawei has created. I’m able to monitor my progress and the fact that I’m mixing walking with running is no issue. I simply initiate a walk manually and that I throw in running segments is not an issue. As it should be!!The step counts are slightly different from the Charge 5 over my 6km course but only by 100-200 steps or so. Both devices seem to track my pulse reasonably well, but I notice that for my running segments the Huawei shows sharp spikes in the pulse record while the Charge 5 shows less distinct peaks. This makes me thing the Huawei is more accurate at least for pulse. The two are similar for most stats but very different on calories. This doesn’t bother me as I think these numbers are most just a crude guess, but they are useful for day-to-day Comparisons. For the record, on the Charge 5 I was getting 3000 calories or more per day and on the Huawei I’m getting 600-700 calories with similar intensity. My only complaint about the Band 7 is that there are very few options out there for alternate bands. There’s nothing really wrong with the silicon band it come with, but I don’t like having to mess with a buckle. I would prefer a metal band with a magnetic clasp but there is nothing available. Probably this is because the device is new and the market demand is small. But this one issue is tiny compared with the daily aggravation I was having with the Charge 5. At less than half the price, I’m getting better performance, a better screen, longer battery life, and possibly better accuracy. I’m happy with this purchase.

Fantastic band for great price!
I bought this as a birthday present for myself and it’s been 10 days since I’ve been using this band. I am in absolute love with this product. I don’t often write amazon reviews but this band compelled me to. For me this was an upgrade over mi band 5 and I was debating between mi band 8 and this and I am glad I chose this.Of the bat, great hardware. Beautiful display. Great battery life and really good UI. For my needs to track walks, runs and workouts, and sleep it’s perfect. The health app though is next level. It is frustrating because the app is not available on playstore and you have to download it from their website. However once you do the app is absolutely filled with amazing features and functionality where all around holistic fitness reports at multiple levels. The whole experience of managing improvements feels so much more robust, refined and rewarding.10/10 would recommend.

Accurate exercise reading, good bang for your buck
From a previous fitbit consumer, the quality is really good and I love all the functions it offers for the price point….my biggest pet peave is when I’ve gone out of range with my phone and misplaced my phone the find phone feature doesn’t reconnect automatically when your back in range. Watch readings are accurate with exerciae I’ve compared the with my sons galaxy 5 pro LTEIt has honestly surpassed my expectations…

Awesome, with a warning!
The device is great. Works perfectly and the sleep tracking is really good. I will say this though, don’t scan the barcode as it goes to a phishing website. Just search for the health app in the App Store, then connect your device. You can’t use the device without the app, which sucks as that process is also terrible, it takes a long time to verify your phone number, and you can’t continue without a verified phone number which is terrible imo. However after you go through the torture of setting up your account, the app and device are great. It’s really easy to use and understand, and the app is well designed with a lot of data to comb through. Has a lot of nice features and for the price, and what you get I’d recommend it. Just don’t scan the barcode lol.

I love this watch
It’s been two days and I haven’t taken it off.The battery life is amazing, the accuracy of sleep, steps and bpm is great. It also tells you when to get up and move if you have been in one position too long.. it happened after I watched an entire movie.I can actually sleep with this on, it is so comfortable on the wrist. It’s not too big and not too small. The only con is that the band isn’t a true black. It’s more matte as well. But maybe this is what keeps it on the wrist better? My friend is also buying one now as well after seeing mine.I ordered a few watch enclosures as well for the face off Amazon since some of the reviews have stated it does get scratched. So for 15$ face and 100$ watch, I’m very happy.

I wanted a smartwatch that didn’t have a huge screen (I have small wrists), was easy to use, had a good battery life and had wasn’t over full of extras I didn’t need. This watch has been great. Easy to read screen, keeps track of steps, easy to use app, lots of choices for screen display, easy to set alarms and quite a lot more. The battery life is great, I charge it maybe once every couple of weeks.Would recommend if you want a decent priced smartwatch that is reliable and useful but don’t want to spend as much as some of the higher priced ones. Also great if you want it nice and simple.

I’m coming from owning several fitbits for over 10 years. In this time the products and the Fitbit app have improved a lot and you get used to a certain level of service and features. Adjusting to the huawei app is taking a bit of time. The major difference for me is not being able to integrate with MyFitnessPal. I have used that app for over 10 years and have a lot of data saved, like recipes and meals and also tracking of food, weight and exercise. If you love MFP, then Huawei is not for you. Also, the Huawei app is not intuitive and has a lot of limitations. For example, there are limited apps to choose for configuring notifications. But hopefully over time, this will improve as they add more and update existing features.
