Great for gratin!
This cast iron pan is perfect for gratins, shepherd’s pie and other savory dishes. You can start on the stove top and finish in the oven. The only thing I wish it had was a lid, but aluminum foil works just fine. I haven’t used it for anything sweet yet, but I’m sure it will work just as well.

The finish is VERY rough with dings and pits inside and out. The handle has rough and sharp edges inside the hole cut out where your fingers go, so I returned it.

This is my favorite “cornbread skillet”. I usually bake my cornbread in a countertop oven, which (obviously)is smaller than my regular oven. That makes the short handles on this pan an absolutely perfect fit! Cooks perfectly every time. I love it so much, I just bought one for my daughter in law.

Gorgeous and a great deal! I love to cook with cast iron and this a great piece in my collection. Seasoned easily and was truly a steal of a deal in comparison to other cast iron pans I’ve bought in shops.

I followed the directions for cast iron cookware and baked this for one hour in a very hot oven after I carefully wiped it down with walnut oil. It was SUPPOSED to create a non-stick surface but it did NOT! The first time I used it, I made a grilled cheese sandwich. Some of the cheese melted and got onto the pan and would not come off. I had to scrub like crazy and repeated the seasoning process of baking after covering the pan in a very thin layer of quality oil. This evening, I made toasty eggs and THIS is what the pan looks like. I would not buy this again. I actually bought it for camping but I am not interested in spending several hours of what is supposed to be quality time with my family, instead trying to scrub a cast iron pan.
