“Set it and forget it” investing, with less risk and higher returns
Get Rich with Dividends is the bestselling dividend-investing book that shows investors how to achieve double-digit returns using a time-tested conservative strategy. Written by a nineteen-year veteran of the equity markets, this invaluable guide shows you how to set up your investments for minimal maintenance and higher returns, so you can accumulate wealth while you focus on the things that matter. Using the author’s proprietary 10-11-12 system, you’ll learn how to generate the income you need on a quarterly or even monthly basis. You’ll discover the keys to identifying stocks that will return twelve percent or more every year, and how to structure your investments for greater security and financial well being. This method is so easy to use, you’ll want to teach it to your children early to set them up for financial independence and help them avoid the problems that plagued many investors over the past decade.
Dividends are responsible for 44 percent of the S&P 500’s returns over the last eighty years. They represent an excellent opportunity today, especially for investors who have been burned in recent meltdowns and are desperate for sensible and less risky ways to make their money grow. This book describes a framework that allows investors to reap higher returns with a low-to-no maintenance plan.
Set up an investment system that requires little to no maintenanceAchieve double-digit average annualized returns over the long termFocus on other things while your money works for youIncrease returns even with below-average growth in share price

Great book with breadth and depth
I have read close to 10 books on dividend based investing. I consider this book the best. Firstly, it has the breadth as a lot of topics not in other books are covered. Examples are why a company does not want to cut dividend, what care needs to be taken when calculating the payout ratios and how covered call can be used. The book also has depth. Its numerical analysis on the superiority of dividend investing is very convincing and revealing. (In one case, the book convincingly showed that one can acutally make more income if the stock price goes down). The book could be improved for the section on example portfolios. It seems that some stocks are replaced regularly but this contradicts with dividend investing philosophy. More explanations would be useful. I recommend this book.

Dividend
Great starter book for dividend investing. It does get a little reptitive at times. I am using the techniques learned in this still today and doing better than most investments i have made elsewhere

Maybe I was expecting more because of the reviews here …
Maybe I was expecting more because of the reviews here, but I thought this book was just so so. Everyone knows the values of investing with dividends, but this book seems to be of a rehash on other books with the same advice.

Good quick read
It was a good book. The author should think about making a 3rd edition, this 2nd edition is from 2013.

This book has extensive information on dividend stock selection and advantages. I like the fact it touches selling options as well

I have studied a great deal about investing with the intent of improving my skills (I work in an investment bank), and at the same time assist in the effective management of my own pension fund. There are many proven pearls of wisdom in Marc Lichtenfeld’s book – it is well worth a read especially if you get to understand that investing is for the long term.
