    Excellent Smart Watch!
I have been wearing my Vivoactive 3 for several months now. It is very comfortable and has held up so well! I have a really small wrist (just under 6″) and this watch doesn’t look or feel too big. The rose gold hasn’t faded or scratched at all yet, and the screen also seems to be scratch proof. I have bumped it many times and not a mark. The white plastic has stayed white, front and back, with no yellowing or dirtying. Finger prints don’t seem to stick to the face, which is awesome. It always looks clean and shiny! The heart rate sensor on the back is flush with the plate, so it doesn’t dig into my wrist (which I found super uncomfortable with other smart watches I tried that have sensors raised from the back plate).Functionality is great. It takes a little bit of time to figure out the app, but once you get used to it, it’s pretty easy. There are so many features that I haven’t even used them all yet. I love how customizable the watch is. There are countless watch faces and widgets to download from the Garmin Connect site. The watch is great for tracking activities. I have used it for walking, swimming, yoga, and cross country skiing. The GPS is very accurate. The step count also seems very accurate too. It doesn’t count minute arm movements like some other watches I tried (some would even count steps when I moved in my sleep, but not this watch). The heart rate monitor is spot-on.The battery life is excellent. I can go 5-6 days on a charge (wearing it 24/7) if I don’t use the GPS. If I do, then the battery life is quite a bit shorter…2-3 days at most if I use the GPS every day. But I don’t mind because it takes less than half an hour to charge the watch back to 100%. I plug it into my computer’s USB port to charge while I’m in the shower and making breakfast. It is handy to be able to look at texts and email notifications on your watch if your phone is out of reach. You can’t reply using the watch, which I don’t care about. You can control your music using the watch, but it doesn’t store any music. Again, I don’t care because I always have my phone with me.Overall, I highly recommend this watch. I get compliments on it all the time. It’s comfortable and durable. When it dies, I will definitely be getting another Garmin!

I’d say it is a sportswatch rather than “smartwatch”
It is a relatively old product but I have started using it only recently. So far, I’m happy with the watch.I was looking for something that can be used to track my activities (running, biking, etc). It works very well for this. Hiking, kayaking, etc — tracks well too. (I’ve read some people were complaining about pulse monitor’s reliability when biking, I did not have any issues so far.)I can’t comment on vivoactive 3’s performance in winter sports (ski, snowboard) as I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. Hopefully, there won’t be disappointments either.I like the fact that you can change the face of the sports monitoring apps so that it displays the information you are interested in in the way you like it. Various watch faces, etc — also very nice. I like simple, clean interfaces but sometimes a busy one with lots of data is a good thing too.GPS works very well in my experience: starts quickly and tracks accurately. The altitude measurements are not as good but I do care too much about these.I was concerned about the wrist heartbeat monitor (the other watch I had was totally unreliable). I’m happy to report that this one is working fine. I’ve compared its measurements with my other monitors (chest strap, arm strap) — there are occasionally differences in readings but very moderate, I definitely can live with that. The functions of a smartwatch are there too but I do not really use them so I won’t comment. The app (smartphone or web browser) that support the watch is great! There are some things that I’d change (make the menus configurable so that I would not see the stuff I do not care about) but otherwise — very informative. It would be nice to see more statistical analysis/trends but even without them — lots of good stuff. The part that I do not find quite relaiable is sleep tracking. I do not think it is as accurate as the other features. Can’t prove it but just does not seem to be quite right.Battery performance is good. Not as high as advertised but… we all know that marketing statements are likely to be exaggerating. To recap: very good wearable device for your workouts. Not the most recent one but if you buy it now, you’d get a lot of functionality at noticeably lowered price.

I bought the Vivoactive 3 around three days ago. This is a great watch. I paid a little over 160 dollars / w tax included. Let me just say it is a tremendous buy & well worth the money. The battery life is great. I’m at 47% as of right now. And that’s with the GPS running, plus Bluetooth on. This watch is a very accurate piece. Keeps time we’ll. You can set this watch up for swimming, walking, running, golf, and areobics. It’s excellent on keeping messages & viewing notifications. It uses the Garmin, and Garmin Connect apps. This watch pairs with your phone like a charm. The Vivoactive 3also has Garmin Pay. Which is handy for those times that you may have left your smartphone at the house or somewhere in your car. This has sleep tracking, calories in take. Measures your heartbeat & blood pressure. In the Garmin app you may set it up for physical fit challenges and programs. Right now it’s giving me two messages. More tips on how to use the watch. And it just told me to get up & move. And this time piece is very trendy, good looking. Plus it’s sturdy but real comfy to wear. This is a good buy.

This watch has a lot going for it. It has way more functionality than I’ve even explored yet. The app that goes with it is great. GPS and maps are brilliant. Connecting with friends is a really good way to get motivated. Felt a bit chunky at first as I have very slender wrists but I’m totally used to it now and only take it off to charge. Charges really quickly and lasts days if not using gps. If using gps it’s best to have full charge if you will be out for hours. But that’s like anything really. Easy to use for all the simple stuff. I’m no wiz kid with tech. But have a friend who is and she got one based on my recommendation and she’s doing loads more with hers and loving it over her fit bit.
