easy install, works great
Super easy to replace the blade assembly. I haven’t bothered trying to replace the base component, since mine is fine, but my old blade was seized and it came out easily. I washed the pitcher in the dishwasher and the new base went in as easily as the old one came out. Back to making smoothies, sauces and soups every day.

Keep it tight!
I make smoothies every day and after ten years my old container seized up and wouldn’t turn. I replaced the blade assembly with this set and it worked for about six weeks but then it started to vibrate and make noise. I didn’t know what the problem was until it just fell apart, making an enormous mess. Nothing broke so I guess it just worked itself loose over time. It’s possible I didn’t have it tight enough to begin with, so I won’t blame the blade assembly. Just make sure to check that it’s still tight, especially if it seems to be shaking or making more noise than usual.

Its as good as the original
The parts are solid and as good as the original. I was able to put it on the blender easily. I have not used the blade yet, as my original is still sharp and working fine. My blenders about 10 years old and I have never had to replace the driver part on the base. Here’s hoping that I get another ten years.

Good price
I have a vm0100a blender. Vitamix brand blade assy cost CAD 150. Someone left a review it is short. Yes this is short to fit in the socket. I cut out the container to fit the blade into the socket. It works very good without any problem. It is good price and I would not say about the quality at the beginning. The socket does not fit the blade assy. I do not know why it does not fit and I keep the existing one.

Works good
Got this to replace a blade I had accidentally bent which sent the assembly out of balance and caused a wicked vibration. The new one installed easy and worked good with little vibration. Seems as good as original but haven’t used a ton yet.

This piece fit perfectly into my 64oz container from my 2011 Vitamix Pro 500. Did not use the drive piece yet as the original still works fine. The price for this was half of what I paid for the one previously which I had to return as it would not extend deep enough to catch the large locking nut threads so could not tighten it down securely. This one did no problem even though they look the same. Not sure yet about longevity.

You could have this problem with any assembly you buy. Read on to learn how I fixed it.I have a Vitamix 5200. The first assembly I received had a spindle that was misaligned with the shaft and caused the whole Vitamix (with carafe on) to shake violently. The misalignment was not visible just watching the spindle spin, but it could be felt at low speed with my thumbnail on the rim of the spindle. Because the Vitamix spins really fast and with powerful force, it practically walked itself off the counter with the carafe on, (except I stopped it). This happened with our original dry container also. So the cause had to be the spindle. The first assembly I received did not work. I returned it and gave a one-star review. Read on to see how to fix this problem.Apparently, the first assembly a was manufacturing defect. Running only with the spindle, you would not know the problem – unless you felt the spinning spindle with your thumbnail and felt the wobble directly. I tried replacing the spindle again several times, with no improvement. It was sad to see such bad tolerances on a part that must spin at high speed. Or possibly, it’s a problem with the Vitamix design itself.I returned the original assembly and left a review here about the bad experience. Fortunately, the seller saw the bad review and reached out to me. They replaced the assembly and asked that I try again. I did. When I first attached the second spindle I had the same problem as before, but not as severe. The spindle rotated off center, which was easily felt with the thumbnail at low speed. You could not see it visually, but it was easily felt. I spent about an hour experimenting by repeatedly reattaching the spindle. If you have such problems, you might want to try what I tried that finally resolved the problem with the second assembly.I experimented with how deeply the spindle was inserted onto the motor shaft. When pushed all the way down, the allen set screw is difficult to reach with the allen wrench. The allen wrench contacts the screw at an angle and makes it difficult to tighten. The original spindle also has this problem. It’s a design flaw with the Vitamix. The small window to reach and remove the spindle set screw is not low enough to allow the spindle to seat all the way down and still tighten the screw.I finally found a position as far down as I could that would still allow me to tighten the allen set screw. After several tries I was able to find a position that caused very little vibration. This is going to happen with every manufacturer of the assembly, including the original Vitamix version. If you have the same problem that I had, try inserting the spindle on the shaft as far down as possible and still turn the set screw.I want to thank the seller for reaching out to me to try again. The seller gets 5 stars for customer service. The blades from Vitamix company are so expensive that I was just going the throw the whole Vitamix out altogether and find another blender. I appreciate the seller offering a reasonably priced solution. I give 4 stars because the blade assembly does not rotate as easily as the ones from the manufacturer. This may change with usage. In the past, to avoid high replacement costs, I would buy bearings and remove them with a press and replace just the bearings. You need special equipment and special locking liquid to do that and it became tedious. The bearings that Vitamix uses are high quality bearings and lesser bearings won’t stand up to high speed without burning up. I’ll see how this new assembly holds up.
