A simple idea for a machine but it’s a game changer, and this one works well
This air fryer works great! It’s easy to use straight from the box, just wash the food basket, plug it in and turn it on with a few button presses! Food comes out great and is a huge timesaver if you are feeding kids. You can pull food out, shake/stir and put it back in and it will automatically restart. It will also sound an alarm part way through to remind you to shake if desired. The touch screen display is a nice touch, when the machine is off there are no buttons visibly and the display is completely black. Very sleek looking. Recommend it.

    So Quiet!
Compared to our previous, 10 year old Phillips and our current 1 year old Ninja, this thing is whisper quiet. In fact, when we first turned it on, we questioned whether or not it even had a fan inside it to circulate the air.So we set our expectations accordingly and assumed it wouldn’t cook as well as our other air fryers. But we were proven wrong. We cooked a few different things that we would typically cook and we used the exact same heat settings and the exact same time lengths and each time the food was cooked exactly like our Ninja. Now, this could be a coincidence. Maybe it doesn’t have a working circulation fan and the element on the top simply cooks the same with or without a fan. Since it turns off as soon as you remove the basket, I can’t tell if it is spinning or not, but I can see a fan directly above the element and it rotates freely when I move it with my finger.Either way, working fan or no working fan, it cooks as expected. So that’s good enough for me.I really like the look of it too. It is sleek and modern looking. When unplugged, there are no visible buttons on the top. When plugged in but off, there is only the power button. As soon as you turn it on, the entire digital display lights up and is very easy to see/read. The buttons are not raised and are entirely digital by touch, so if you are visibly impaired, this probably won’t work for you because there is no way to know where the buttons are without looking at the screen. As mentioned earlier, when you remove the basket, the fan and the heater turn off. In fact, the screen itself turns off, which I found a little odd. When you put the basket back in, the screen turns on again after a moment or two and continues where it left off. Due to the delay, the first time we replaced the basket, we pressed the power button again thinking it had to be restarted. The recipe booklet that it comes with has some cool, very basic recipes, but I found it funny that several of the recipes are called “Pine Nuts Panettone” when the recipe obviously is not. This is clearly a publishing mistake where they put the wrong name of some of the recipes. What’s even more funny is that both the Table of Contents and the actual recipe titles are wrong.Aside from that, and a few areas of the air fryer that look to be poorly constructed, this little guy is awesome. It works well, it’s quiet, it doesn’t take up a lot of space and it looks modern too. Assuming it lasts, I’d definitely recommend this to anyone (except the visibly impaired).

    Sleek Air Fryer
This review is for the DOMEM Air Fryer 6.2 Qt. I had one that was awkward to use and had a clunky interface and therefore needed replacement. This is a sleek-looking unit with black and silver exterior elements. It includes a very useful recipe cookbook. It’s all digital, so start switching it on, then options open.We did a whole chicken, fries and other similar items, and in all cases, it performed really well. The basket is large enough to accommodate things like the chicken, and it’s large enough that the air can flow from all sides so we did not have to turn the food over.I did use a minimal amount of olive oil, and it was more than enough. It is reasonably quiet (our old one sounded like a jet engine) and cooks the food quite fast. And what is fantastic is that the basket and rack are dishwasher safe which is a huge bonus. All in all, a great air fryer, very useful for cooking healthy food and not using an oven, and would highly recommend it.

Easy to use and cooks the food just right It’s my 1st air fryer and I wish I had found this one a long time ago. I am disabled and I can cook healthy and in no time it’s ready. What more can I say, I have something I can use now and it’s easy to use

I ordered the DOMEM Air Fryer 6.2 Qt 1500W Large-Capacity Oven, 8-in-1 Multi-cooker with Non-Stick Basket to replace an old PowerXL 5.5-Qt air fryer I’ve had and used extensively for just two weeks shy of 8 years now. I loved that air fryer, but I’d dropped the basket and broke bits of plastic off of it, and it *is* almost 8 years old now, so I figured it probably won’t last much longer… so it’s a good time to get a replacement waiting in the wings.First things first, I thoroughly read the manual. It is not badly written, in terms of grammar and spelling. The before-first-use, use, and care instructions are easy to understand. The recipes section, though… the recipes do not look all that interesting to me (although that is entirely subjective), and there are three recipes for “Pine Nuts Panettone,” although only one of them is accurate–looks like the manual writer just forgot to change the recipe titles for the other two. Now, this DOMEM air fryer has more functions than my old one: it air fries, but also has settings for roast, broil, bake, reheat, and dehydrate, as well as preheat and keep warm settings and the ability to manually change the temperature and time. I am unable to tell the difference between the settings, other than different preset temps and times. The fan seems to operate with all the settings. That’s fine with me, as I don’t generally depend on presets, anyway. The dehydrate setting is a much lower temp (110 degrees F) than is available on my old air fryer, so I may try that some time. The capacity of this air fryer is larger at 6.2 Quarts than my old one, which is listed as 5.5 Quarts, but the actual size of the basket is very similar. The footprints are also very similar, although this one is rectangular, while the old one is rounded. The basket of this air fryer is just one piece (rather than a separate basket that comes out of the drawer’s shell), but it has a tray that sits down in the bottom. I think the absence of an internal basket is how this one’s capacity can be higher without a larger exterior. The tray has a silicone bumper on each corner that raises it just slightly from the bottom of the drawer, but I wish the entire outside edge of the tray had a silicone ring or gasket, as I noticed the edge of the metal tray scrapes against the edge of the drawer no matter how careful I am when inserting it… I worry about scratches to the drawer’s non-stick surface.I decided to first test this air fryer with a frozen convenience food–frozen egg rolls. The egg roll package listed air fryer directions, so I set the air fryer to match and turned it on. (Note: my old air fryer automatically starts a few seconds after choosing settings, but this one has an actual “start/pause” button that must be pushed. I foresee some false starts in my future while I get used to that lol.) The noise level of this air fryer is MUCH less than my original air fryer. I can still hear the fan, of course, but it’s about half as loud. The egg rolls were set to air fry for 10 minutes, but I noticed they were done at 8. Again, I don’t normally just trust presets, so this is no hardship for me.Other (non-frozen-prepared) things I make frequently in my air fryer are steak fries, shoestring fries, chicken wings and drumsticks, crispy air-fried chickpeas, onion petals/rings, and roasted potatoes and/or veggies. I intended to make at least several of these before writing my review, but the holiday season has left me so busy I decided to submit my review as is. If I find any significant differences, whether good or bad, when I do make them, I’ll update this review. At the current price of just under $70 (a ten-dollar price increase from when I ordered it 3 weeks ago), this air fryer is a good value. For comparison, my original was $150.

  9. N. Story

This is a great big air fryer, with a 6 qt capacity, very wide and spacious for food.I really appreciate that the air vent is oriented up and down instead of blasting the wall directly. I have another fryer that just pushes hot air directly behind it instead of using any directional venting and I do not like that. The tray has an easily removable nonstick grill which is very easy to clean, and it comes to temp quickly with little prep time. However, there are several things about it I do not like. I am not a an of the control scheme. It is a touchscreen button style that requires extreme care when pressing buttons as they are close enough to make it very easy to press the wrong button. It also means no pressing buttons without a finger.Additionally, I am not a fan of how hot the tray gets from the outside. The handle stays cool but I have singed myself on the side of the tray with the hand. Overall, this is a great performer, it just needs care in use. This is the type of air fryer I would get for a college student or if I had lots of food to cook at once. Definitely a plus for pizza rolls!

I absolutely love this thing. I just moved into a studio apartment that lacked a microwave and was worried about how I’d go about heating up food without waiting for an oven so I picked this up.First, its very well made and the materials are nice and solid. It has a clean, professional appearance with minimal branding, which I really appreciate. When not in use the entire unit is elegant and sleek. Once you pop in the cook basket the entire display lights up and gives you a number of easy to use options for food prep. That display by the way is wonderful, bright, easy to read, not cluttered and disappears entirely when not in use. It honestly doesn’t even look like the unit has a screen until its turned on, which I really enjoy. It has several cool features as well, like a shake warning that tells you when to remove the tray and shake about the food to ensure even cooking. It also remembers its previous cook times and temps, making it easy to use for multiple items. Speaking of cooking, it does a great job at getting a quick, even heat throughout whatever item you’re cooking. Air fryers are all the rage now since you can get similar fried tastes without all the grease, calories and fat and this one is no exception. Once you’re done cleanup is dead simple as well and all the materials used in the basket and included grill bottom are very easy to maintain and very well built.I really do love it and it’s become a staple piece in my little kitchen. From cooking up quick easy meals to reheating leftovers, and even dehydrating it really is an all in one device. Highly recommend, especially at the price.
