    Versatile cooking device.
The saute feature is very hot, be careful. Also the bake, even at 300. I ended up taking it off bake & using high slow cook feature to finish cooking chicken. as bake was too hot. It is a nice device & I am still learning to use it.

    A Multifunctional Disaster!
UPDATE (March 25/2022): I bought the Instant Pot Aura multicooker from Amazon Canada–it’s an oval-shaped multicooker by the Instant Pot brand. I LOVE IT!! I’ve steamed salmon in it and slow-cooked a beef stew to perfection. The Instant Pot multicooker is so great that I’m buying a 2nd one. **And it’s under $100 for a slowcooker that WORKS!!** Save your money and sanity and buy the Instant Pot Aura. [And no, I don’t work for the Instant Pot company; I’m just really impressed with the multicooker of theirs!]I bought this multicooker from Amazon Canada in May 2020. So I’ve had 1.5 years to try out all the functions. After I unpacked it, I handwashed the insert & plugged the unit in. The blue light is REALLY BRIGHT and it beeps loudly to tell you it’s plugged in, even though the display hadn’t been set to any mode yet. So after that 1st try, every single time I’d finished making anything with it, I’d unplug the unit. A couple of reviewers had said that the Slow Cooker LOW setting didn’t work. They are correct! I discovered that this LOW equals “Keep Warm” and the MEDIUM setting–which I’ve never had on any other of my slow cookers!–is really LOW. The HIGH setting is only slightly hotter than MEDIUM, so I used it 1x and never after that. My last meal in this unit was a recent Chanukah brisket (beef) on November 28. The Smitten Kitchen recipe was for a(n) 8-10 pound brisket in a slow cooker on LOW for 10 hours. Well, I had a (boneless) piece of beef brisket that was only 6 pounds. I cooked it on MEDIUM in this useless machine for the 10 hours overnight, and then it was on “Keep Warm” for 4 hours. Well the meat came out pink overall, and the centre portion was still bloody! It’s not as if I’d overfilled the machine, either. I can’t believe how many reviewers think this is a great slow cooker and multicooker. As for the oven feature, I can tell you that preheating my full-sized oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit takes less time than the preheating on this DeLonghi. On average, it takes over 15 minutes to bring the cooker to 400 degrees F, in a machine that is MUCH SMALLER than my full-sized oven. It’s a real shame that Ninja has stopped making their oval-shaped multicookers. I used my Ninja for 5 years without any problems until I decided to try to roast a chicken for longer than it needed & I didn’t monitor it! That was my BIG MISTAKE, and I’ve regretted that I can’t buy a replacement Ninja multicooker since that day. Unless you plan to add on at least 1.5x the time to any slow cooker recipe, do not waste your money on this cooker. It’s an expensive disappointment! I’m giving it 1 star for appearance only!

    Awesome Purchase
I was looking for something to replace a few small appliances. Crockpots, coolers, fryers, and IP now gone. Very versatile and not overly heavy like the IP. I’ve had no problems with it, it heats up well, and quick. We’ve cooked a lot of variations in this appliance and have had great results.

  7. gonczo

    Very impressed.
We have another cooker similar to this one but this cooker seems to cook a little faster. The only draw back is it doesn’t have a timer to start the cooker later in the day if you set it up say in the morning. Overall very impressed with this cooker and my old cooker is jealous that I’m not using it as much. Worth the money spent on this cooker.

  8. SimpleGuy

    works as expected
the bowl is easy to wash, the grid – not so much

My husband really wanted this fryer. I am sure his cardiologist would not have approved! The first time we used it, we sat it on a large cutting board on the stove with the vent going. The vent was not enough. Steam went everywhere. I banished it to outside use only! It isn’t lonely because we have our pizza oven out there as well. (We have a covered deck in the backyard). The second time we used it, outside, it was perfect. I couldn’t be happier with it.There is another review from a gentleman who obviously knows food service and deep frying. We took his advice and bought some wagyu beef tallow. We put peanut oil in the bottom and beef tallow above it. It fried the food perfectly. Certainly don’t want fried food every night, or every week.Clean up was very easy. Let the oil cool completely then drain the oil. I popped all the dishwasher safe parts in the dishwasher and stored this, rather large unit, away.

The De’Longhi Multi-Function cooker has done everything I’ve told it to do, even to my detriment! The unit has performed well in sauté mode, steamer mode and rice mode very well. The rice to water ratio needed will need tweaking if you normally cook rice in a pressure cooker like an insta-potThe slow cooker on this appliance automatically shifts to keep warm mode (150 degrees) five minutes after the cooking mode (low, medium or high) is completed. I didn’t read the directions, so I set the cooking mode and immediately pressed the keep warm button, this isn’t correct. Another review mentions this cooker doesn’t get hot enough, they may have done the same thing. I’ve checked all 4 crock pot temperature settings and they were fine at 150 deg, 172 deg, 190 deg and 202 deg for keep warm, low, medium and high.Be aware that most newer crock pots cook to the same temperature on all their cook settings, low just gets less “juice” to get there so it takes longer. So new recipes are starting to reflect this way of working. This cooker does NOT work that way. It cooks at distinctly different temperatures, like older crock pots did. This unit heats from the bottom instead of from the sides. No crusted, hard to clean ring around the crock. And since the heat is from the bottom, smaller recipes can be made.

I needed a new slow cooker, my old one boiled everything, even on low! So I looked for one that had a better thermostat and was willing to pay more than a typical slow cooker costs. In my search I discovered the DeLonghi multi cooker. Let me tell you, this has become my go-to three or four nights a week! Not only does it have a THREE temperature (low, med, high) slow cooker, but you can sauté the meat or vegetables right in the pot. Plus there are roast and steam settings. The controls are easy to use with digital readings. The pot is easy to clean and the whole unit looks beautiful on my counter! I highly recommend this cooker.

This thing is great! We have had it for two years now and use it occasionally. We have made rice, steamed veggies, soup, pork chops, and whole chicken. The cooker is easy to use and setup. The removable aluminum pot is coated with a non-stick material. It worked well for the first year, but now the coating is coming off and we can’t use it unless we use crock pot liner. I found a replacement on the website. Model number to search is Delonghi CMK1641D and your looking for a GH1004 TANK. The price is around 80$ with shipping.Update 8-26-2022 – The replacement pot is still on backorder. Apparently they have enough for production but won’t send any out as replacements. There is “No ETA” from factory on the delivery.Upate 8-31-2022 – I canceled the order for the pot. It appears it is on indefinite backorder. The cost was almost half the cost of the unit. It’s not really worth it to replace the pot. Had to take a star off for not providing replacements pots on Amazon at a reasonable price.

UPDATE: DeLonghi has me running in circles. Worst customer service ever. I have been promised a new unit… but never get it. Every time I call they start a new “investigation and review” with something else they want me to do. This really irks me since they made me cut the cord and send them a photo. NOW…they want to review again. This is clear breach is warranty. I since found out they treat all warranty issues like this. Evidently their game is to get you so frustrated you give up. I would highly discourage a purchase of any DeLonghi appliance.===========Spoke too soon. This unit lasted 5 months and the heating elements went out. I have called customer service 5 times. They keep wanting more and more things from me. First a copy of the Amazon transaction… that one is understandable. After they rec’d that and I didn’t hear from them called customer service again. This time they wanted a video of the unit not powering on. Well… okay…. but that is not going to show the unit not heating. The lights come on just fine. No word from them again. Next call I made, they said I need to cut the cord and send them a photo. OKAY…. but what next. I asked why they didn’t tell me they needed all this stuff at the first contact. She said…. We do replacements in steps, because telling customers all this at one time confuses them. I have little hope of ever getting a replacement. I can no longer recommend this unit because it only lasted 5 months and customer service is difficult to work with. Took me 5 calls and they still do not understand it’s the heating elements that are not working.===========================================Original review:I was skeptical regarding the cost of this unit. It has become my most favorite, most used appliance. I love the MED setting on the sow cooker. SOOOooo easy to clean. I highly recommend spending the extra $$. You will love this unit. PLUS… it is soooo pretty. I keep it out, to only because I use it almost daily…. but also because it is just so darn pretty. Highly recommend!!!
