11 reviews for Day Trading for a Living (Stock Market Trading and Investing)

  1. Howard Lee

    Great Follow Up Book
I read Andrew’s first book “How To Day Trade For A Living”. It was a great starting place for me to understand the basic principles of day trading. His second book gives a deeper dive into some of the concepts, strategies and psychology that it takes to become a successful day trader. For me personally, the day trading concepts and strategies in both books are not overly complicated to understand. However, it is the additional insight that this book provides from a psychological standpoint that really drives its value. Understanding how important “planning your trades and trading your plan,” is vital in becoming a successful day trader. Being disciplined with your money and knowing your trade sizes and stop loss points is another aspect of this book that is covered very well. I have read some people complaining in their reviews that this book is very similar and almost identical in parts. I would offer two counter arguments for these complaints. The first being that Andrew prefaces in multiple areas that the beginning of this book covers the same concepts as the first book. He even recommends that if you are familiar with this material that you skip to a further chapter (personally, I found it helpful to review these concepts). Second, some of the topics that are repeated are done with purposeful intent. Things like stop loss, pre-market preparation, bank roll management and general trading psychology are generally repeated. But this is done with intent. My career background is a high school business teacher. As many of you understand with learning, repetition is key; as is practice. Concepts from the first book that I quickly brushed over were being repeated to me in this book. This helps the reader get a better understanding of how they work but more importantly, their importance. Overall, this book is an excellent next step to further your trading knowledge. Best of luck to you future traders — Mitch Lee

    A GOOD STARTING POINT!
Upon reading this book, it becomes apparent to me that Andrew Aziz has generously shared his knowledge and experience. These are valuable assets for a trader in training. This information has helped me improve my learning curve and significantly reduce the risks of failure in this challenging endeavor of becoming a successful day trader. The information is well synthesized and well presented. It’s a book that I took a lot of time to read because it’s also a kind of manual. While this book alone is certainly not sufficient for trader training, its author is the first to acknowledge that. Together with its companion, “Day Trading for a Living,” it forms a very solid foundation.I recommend this book to all beginner traders.

  3. Mathew Aubry

    great read
Just like his first book Andrew does a great job of explaining his strategies and explaining them in detail that is easy to understand. Although some people may be turned off by him constantly reiterating how risky it is to start day trading I feel that it is necessary so that people understand that you can lose money in trading just as much as you can make money.

This is a must read book for anyone aspiring to day trade or swing trade on the NYSE !
This is a must read book for anyone aspiring to day trade or swing trade on the NYSE. I made big improvements in my trading after reading it and now I’m subscribed to Bearbulltraders website where there’s a wealth of knowledge to capture. I’m also impressed by the prompt email responses I got from Andrew himself with my questions. So basically this book leads you to interact directly with the author, be with a community of likeminded traders and keep growing !

  5. Dinesh

An Indispensable Resource for the Aspiring Day Trader
“Advanced Techniques in Day Trading” is the latest book by Dr. Andrew Aziz. His first book was “How to Day Trade for a Living.” which I have come to regard as the essential introductory guide to day trading. In his newest book, he further delves into the psychology and the probabilistic nature of trading. He also explains how use the necessary trading tools and how to setup your platform. You will learn how to find and build your “stocks in play” watchlist in the morning and denote important levels in your stock chart. The book introduces and illustrates candlestick charting and important patterns to recognize. As Dr. Aziz explains that ” a successful day trader is a social psychologist behind a computer and charting software.” He expands with greater detail the most relevant and important strategies needed to be successful in today’s ever-changing market.Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in day trading or even a seasoned professional seeking an update on the latest techniques . This book maintains the easy to understand language that made his first book so well received. For me, “Advanced Techniques in Day Trading” is the single most valuable resource I use everyday in my day trading career.

  6. Dave

Another highly practical handbook for day trading
I picked up this book right after I finished Andrew Aziz’s other book “How to Day Trade for a Living”. This book is yet another highly practical “textbook/handbook” for day trading. Many people have accused the author of using the first book to market his day trading community. I’m yet to join and can understand where that perception comes from, however, I couldn’t be happier to have found these books. The author has a unique ability to explain highly complex concepts in a way that a total newbie can understand and this is even more evident in this second book. While continuing with his “holistic approach” to day trading as an occupation the author dives deeper into specific trading strategies. And he does that with his characteristic “no nonsense” approach.Unlike the typical “get rich quick” YouTube marketers, Andrew covers at length the “unsexy” aspects of trading. I would not have purchased this second book if I didn’t find his approach to be highly practical and useful to a newbie trader. I’m glad “Advanced Techniques in Day Trading” delivered on those expectations.

  9. Cliente Amazon

Amazing book on how its possible to change you job with a perfect explanation to how to start

  10. Amazon Customer

I am normally very critic in my reviews, but I will have to admit this book provides a very good intuition about how the market is driven and how is the mentality and lifestyle of a trader. The examples are real, without much “filtering” of the trades how is normally found out there. The explanations are logic and easy to follow. However one needs to have some very basic foundation to follow the terms, which should not be a problem for some beginners that did some research beforehand. After some youtube crashcourses, this is a great book to start with. Totally recommend it!

Grande Aziz
