    Powerful blender, Worth the money
I knew nothing about blenders when doing my research, and after hours of searching I decided to go with a Cuisine-Art Hurricane Pro. Even though it was more costly compared to other blenders and the regular Hurricane, it was worth it! It is incredibly powerful, crushes ice and other products with ease, easy to clean, and the best part is that it comes with a collective recipe book that has a tonne of things to make, from smoothies to soups to dips. I figured to spend the extra money for a product you intend to keep without having to replace early, and that was one key finding from most reviews I saw for this product. The money you spend on this blender is meant for quality, and I highly recommend it!

Great blender!! You should buy it!
I really love this blender!! It’s easy to use, easy to clean and has a lot of power. Cuisinart is a great brand. I would definitely recommend it to anyone! The motor is quite loud but that doesn’t bother me.

I think I could blend my other blender.
The Hurricane Pro is squarely priced in rather competitive territory to the titans of the high end blending industry along with offerings from Vitamix and Blendtec. Arguably, when someone decides they have hundreds of dollars to spend on a blender their mind will immediately think of these two companies. I know a lot of people are going to be researching and comparing the Cuisinart against these blenders, and I wish I could directly compare them for you but not having ever used or owned blenders from either of those two companies I can’t. I do however own another, less well known, more “budget” competitor to those high end offerings in the form of a Versa 1400W (2HP) which when I was doing my own research at the time was generally considered to offer 85% or so of the performance so I can offer some insight on how the Hurricane Pro stacks up against the Versa. In this house, our main use for the blender is smoothies… the kids love them, almost regardless of what gets put in them so it’s a tool that gets used a lot to hide healthy stuff that they otherwise would put up a fight to eat. We use ice in the smoothies, but during the summer we also crush ice for drinks pretty often. In our other blender, there were always chunks of ice left when doing this… it did a pretty passable job, but not perfect. I put a load of ice into the Hurricane Pro, chose the ice crush setting and left it at the default time of only 10 seconds and this thing obliterates ice cubes like nobody’s business… it didn’t need that full 10 seconds I think it turned the ice into a fine powder in more like 5. Zero chunks, nothing, it turned it into 100% snow. I’m really impressed with the consistency of the crushed ice, which a lot of blenders have trouble with. Satisfied with that, I made a smoothie with a large load of mixed frozen berries and more ice. I chose the smoothie setting, left it at the default time and let it set to work. I misjudged the amount of liquid this time, and I wasn’t happy with the initial results – it was too thick for the blender to properly mix and get that whirlpool action going (this was my fault, not the blenders). I added more liquid and gave it another go. Results were very smooth… only thing I have to say is, the default smoothie setting and time is not good enough for berries if you don’t like a lot of berry seeds…. you have to supplement the time it blends (each preset allows you to customize it) and I add another 10 seconds of the “turbo button” action to it to really pulverize the seeds and the result was there were very few seeds left and what remained of the seeds were just a few scattered bits. Again, my other blender could not do this regardless of the fact that it’s a 2HP model.Specifications wise, it’s pretty much at the top of the game with the 3.5HP motor and the 3000 rpm blade speed (only when using the turbo button), I think this is higher than you get even with the other guys. It leaves nothing to complain about in terms of power. The motor base is sturdy, though the exterior case is not metal it’s actually plastic. Still, it doesn’t look or feel cheap in any way – metal would have still been better. Even though it doesn’t have a metal case on the base, what stood out to me while using it was the fact that it doesn’t vibrate much at all – the motor is very well balanced and this is the first blender I’ve ever used that I didn’t feel the need to hold down on the lid to push it down on the counter while blending heavy stuff for fear of it shaking right off. Even though this thing is nearly twice as powerful as my other blender, I think it’s actually quieter in operation. It’s noisy, don’t get me wrong, any blender like this is going to make noise… but for the power, I think the noise level of this blender is actually really good. The entire blade assembly and attachment points between the motor and the blades are all 100% stainless steel. Nothing here will strip, crack or break. Some blenders will have all or part of this connection point made of plastic which is prone to failure.Operation itself of the blender couldn’t be easier, with the easy to read LCD display that shows you all of the information you need and allows you to set timers, customize the presets, and select the blending speed etc. The user interface of the blender is arguably better than any other blender I’ve seen. There is even a self clean program… now the self clean really isn’t that necessary since I have always just added water a a bit of soap and ran blenders for a bit to clean out the blades but it does make it a one touch operation and it does seem to modulate the speed through the cycle automatically which keeps the foam under control automatically.Warranty wise, it’s pretty good. There is a 3 year warranty on the entire thing, and the box mentions a 10 year warranty on the motor itself. Long warranties are becoming something of a standard feature on high end blenders, so I’m glad that Cuisinart recognizes this and made sure to back their product up well.Bottom line is I don’t know how this stacks up exactly against models from some other companies, but I have been completely content with the blenders quality and performance. It really has not produced anything but excellent results for me and other than the motor base not having a full metal construction there isn’t really much here to improve on.

I’m not entirely sure what could make this blender better. It does it’s job well
I’m not entirely sure what could make this blender better. It does it’s job well. The price is good, and I wouldn’t want to spend any more on a higher quality blender…this one is good enough for me.Yes it crushes/slushes ice easily.

Very good blender with some flaws
Update:I’ve added a star because customer service did get back and are sending out a new jar. The blender is really good besides a couple of flaws. If you can get it at around $300, I say go for it. It is selling at over $500 in some stores. At that price I would just get a vitamix, but at around $300 it will perform at the same level or very close to ones that sell for almost double. I still think it is a mistake to not include a tamper, and the lid being made of a hard plastic instead of rubber like other high end blenders was also a mistake.Original comments…As you can see in the picture, after about 3 days there is already a crack in the jug about an inch above the bottom of the handle. I can feel it from both the outside and inside of the jug. I understand that sometimes these things happen. My mother has a vitamix and the blade in her jug broken in under two months. They sent her a replacement immidently and now it has gone 6 years with no issues. However, my issue is I called support, was told to email info, and I would get a response back. I emailed everything they asked and haven’t heard back in a week. If they replace it, I’ll keep it, if I don’t get a response soon, I’ll send it back to amazon. For the short time I actually used the blender, it was really good, with minor flaws. Smoothies were perfect, crushing ice no problem, and also making soups, was perfect. These 3 items were just as good as a vitamix. Anything that has enough liquid in it, this blender will complete at the same level or very close to a vitamix that is almost double its price. The issue is when making thicker things like peanut butter, ice cream, hummus etc… While the end results of making these items is close too, if not the same as a vitamix, getting to these results is the problem. Not having a tamper really hinders this blender. To make peanut butter you need to stop and open the lid to move the peanuts around. Like I said, the end results are good, but it takes almost twice the time when compared to vitamix, and its simply because of the missing tamper. I’m also not thrilled about the plastic lid. I prefer the rubber style lids. The lid works and nothing has leaked out, but it is more difficult to remove then the rubber. Also this blender’s height is not 42.55 cm tall. The 42.55 cm is up to the lip of the jub with the lid off. With the the lid on which has the little cap in the middle that protrudes a bit, this blender is 45 cm tall. Just tall enough not to fit on my counter under the cabinets. To keep in on my counter instead of storing it, I have to keep the cap off. Up until the point the jug cracked, I was very happy with this blender. Hopefully they send a replacement, and we can just caulk this up to bad luck. It has its flaws, but I’ll just purchase a universal tamper, and that will fix the majority of those flaws. Finally, the blender is loud, but no more then any of the other high powered blenders on the market. People complaining about the noise have probably never used a high powered blender and are comparing it to the sound of the cheaper blenders.

    Powerful blender for the price
This is one powerful blender. I love that the blade doesn’t come out. The “clean” setting works really well – you just need to give it a wipe afterward. I love this blender!
