I was intrigued by this book which has challenges to save $50-10000. The book opens with an introduction explaining the concept of a cash stash and how to use the book if one prefers to save online. It includes a sample budget outline and a short money personality quiz. The genius of this book is the challenges. The three main chapters include an introduction to the section and a reflection question. Each challenge contains a space to list the savings goal and deadline, a short explanation, the increments to save, and a colorable image that matches the theme (think movie theater props for a challenge to save for movie night.) The entire book has perforated pages, so one can remove a specific challenge and add it to a budget binder or files. The challenges are creative AND fun, making this a great book for people who want to build their saving capacity. A bonus chapter includes a classic 100-envelope challenge. The book also includes resources for learning about budgeting, budgeting apps, and more. I will definitely incorporate this book into my budgeting practice!

This book has a lot of great savings challenges but the push to five stars for me has to be all the attention to detail. To start, perforated pages throughout (for those of us that want to use the pages in our planners), fonts are easy to read and the cover aesthetic is great too. It just feels good to hold it. Ilysse also put in a short quiz to better identify our relationship with money, and some detailed budget pages to illustrate savings or spending ability. The price point is budget friendly as well, and of course! If you like or just want to try savings challenges, I 10/10 recommend. 😊

I started following Ilysse about 4 years ago when I discovered creative planning. I’ve always loved her focus on creative planning combined with budgeting and goal planning. She models setting a budget, planning for long and short term goals, and having fun while doing it. This book includes activites that are appropriate for different ages, income levels and a variety of goals. The one-sided perforated pages are perfect for removing, copying and reusing. It’s also a great way to teach kids about saving at an early eage. Thank you, Ilysse, for this wonderful resource!

I absolutely LOVE this savings activity book! It’s not just another savings guide—it’s a super creative way to achieve your financial goals. The activities are easy to follow and the layout is engaging, which makes saving money actually feel exciting 🙂 It doesn’t feel overwhelming and instead helps me see how small amounts can add up to something big. I can’t wait to really hone in on this in 2025 with some big goals! Such a great way to start off the new year. Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to turn saving into a fun and rewarding experience.

I love the concept of this book! It takes the pit out of my stomach when trying to save and make it much more enjoyable. Because it is so visual, it’s easy to monitor the progress. I can see how this will translate to other areas of my life and enhance it. It will also make a perfect gift for college grads, newlyweds, new home, etc.
