The description of the pan is accurate, nothing sticks to it and clean up is easy, but the exterior scratches easily. Be careful when sliding in and out of the oven. I used the pan twice and this is what happened (see photos).

I heard a lot about how Caraway makes premium photo-worthy good looking products, but it doesn’t seem that way except for pricing. The “non-stick ceramic coating” is simply not applied well onto the product, there is a whole rim with obvious defects, and when you look at the reflection on the flat surface, you can see there are some holes in the coating like a grain of sand missing inside, I guess it doesn’t help the “non-stick” property?

Bottom line: there is nothing wrong with this pan. I think my expectations are just too high. I was hoping for a pan that I could just bake anything in and not have to worry about it sticking. Maybe that’s not a real thing. I wasn’t expecting “easy release when fully coated with flour, or a light amount of oil or butter” or a suggestion to line the pan with parchment paper. These are not unreasonable requests, but I don’t see how they are any different than any other pan. What is the point of “non-stick” if you still have to prep it? Again, there is nothing wrong with this pan, and I appreciate that the non-stick coating is non-toxic. I generally avoid non-stick coatings for this very reason. The pan performed as expected with a cookie bar recipe that I make regularly. The pan sides do not taper, so the batter ended up being flatter than when I make it in a glass dish. I just took a few minutes off the cook time, and they came out perfectly. I will continue to use this pan, and I am still interested in other options from this brand. I guess I’m just not as wowed as I was hoping I’d be. But that’s just me.
