What a great idea!!!
A friend of mine recommended these journals to me and I decided to purchase the Budget Journal. They made it super simple to breakdown a monthly budget that everyone can understand and stick too…it worked for me! Their Pro Tips and Recommendations throughout the book are amazing….simple ideas that really work! I look forward to purchasing another journal soon! There’s one downfall tho…you are supposed to receive a free gift throughout the book..as promised by email from one of the owners of the book. Never came…and emails go unanswered. Not a big deal….but something they definitely need to work on.

March 2024 Update:I have been continuing to use this book for over a year now. I know the phrase “life changing” can be over used, but this system really has helped me with money stress. It is almost a non issue. I’ve had life throw me some curve balls in the last 6 months and even though I had to take a couple months off from using the journal, I’ve managed to keep on track. The skills I have learned are priceless. I am doing a budget refresh to get back into using the journal. This system is so incredibly user friendly. It is something I will always have around.I am in love with this book. I feel like I finally found a workbook that makes sense! I have tried others and failed. I’ve tried the Dave Ramsey book and companion workbook, envelope system (debit card & paper version), & a few blog budget binders.I have been using the Budget Sidekick for almost a month now and here is what I love about it:- The book itself is very well made. Normally I am partial to spiral bound but I am glad this book is not. Since I am tracking my spending daily this book gets tossed around in my purse quite a bit. It has been holding up incredibly well.-Everything is so easy to understand! I don’t feel like I need an accounting degree to make sense of everything.-The bite sized lessons are very helpful and give great clarity into my spending habits.-I can tell a lot of research went into the creation of this workbook. Since I have done other systems I love seeing little nuggets from Dave Ramsey and others sprinkled in. There is good information in those other budget programs but it gets lost in the writing or instructions. In here it is so much easier to follow.-Because of the ease of use, I actually look forward to using it every day.-I am learning what my budget truly is, where my bad habits are, and where all my money is going.-There is no shaming when things get off track. Instead there are great tips on how to “right the ship”.-I really love the actionable challenges also. It gets the brain working on how to rewire your thinking about money.-The writing is very well done. It is not overpowering. Past budget books melted my brain. This is such a nice steady pace and gives me the feeling of being in control.-I am so excited to see what the end of the month summary is going to show me. I am already seeing a pattern in my spending and learning ways to correct it.-I am feeling confident with my money. I don’t feel like I am just guessing at my bank balance just to log in and find out whoops I forgot about that charge.-If you are looking at this book and at reviews the best thing I can say is buy this book. It is set up for people at all different levels of budgeting. And there is so much help along the way and resources if you are feeling lost.-I don’t know how to explain it but it feels more like a community than another budgeting book.*I hope this helps*

Sure, anyone can make a spreadsheet. What this book provides is encouragement, information, direction and guidance in developing a sustainable lifestyle within your given budget. The beginning exercise where you look at your past spending during a typical month was a huge eye-opener for me that what I was doing was not going to work. There’s no shame when you fumble- everything is an opportunity to learn.I highly recommend these books. I love having something to write in at the end of the day and I have been WAY more cognizant of my spending habits. They’re also sleek and excellent quality!

I’ve really enjoyed using the Habit Nest Budgeting Book! It does a fantastic job of guiding you step by step to build better budgeting habits, which I truly appreciate. I’ve used three other Habit Nest books for different habits, and the concept continues to impress me—it’s such a helpful, thoughtful system for personal growth. That said, with this specific book, I wish there was a bit more flexibility. I would love the option to title the budget categories myself and for the weekly budgeting section to include a space for a running total to track where the budget itself stands over time.Overall, I highly recommend this book and the entire Habit Nest series for anyone wanting to build positive habits with structure and clarity. It’s a valuable tool that’s helped me stay consistent and mindful with my finances!

I really like the construction of the book and it’s an easy read. The tips help keep me motivated and I’m looking forward to see the end of my month. Already realizing a bunch of waste I can trim out. I love the journal.

This is journal is great. I loved the that the first part was basically a crash course on how to use the book and also adjusting your attitude. It’s really easy to get down on yourself when you mess up starting a new habit and the start of the book does it’s best to curb your mindset before you even start. The journal it’s self is great, as someone who’s tried and failed at even starting a budget many times this really made it easy and less daunting to get started. I also have the morning sidekick journal and it’s great.
