The BLACK+DECKER™ 7-Quart Digital Slow Cooker with Temperature Probe + Precision Sous-Vide gives you three ways to cook. 1.) Classic slow cooking is simple in the 7-quart stoneware crock. Just add in the ingredients and let the low, constant heat go to work on roasts, soups, chilis, and so much more! 2.) Use the temperature probe to achieve ideal results on a variety of proteins. Just set the desired temperature, insert the probe into the meat, and the slow cooker will do the rest. 3.) For restaurant-quality results without the hassle or guesswork, use the Sous-Vide Function. Just arrange single servings of food inside the resealable bags, set the time and temperature based on what you’re cooking and the level of doneness you prefer, and then insert the temperature probe into the water. The sous-vide method helps prevent overcooking by heating the water that surrounds the food, bringing it to the desired internal temperature. When slow cooking, three heat settings give you options to find the best temperature for your schedule—Low for 8-9 hours of cooking, High for 3-4 hours, and Warm for keeping food at the ideal serving temperature. Plus, cleanup is easy thanks to the dishwasher-safe stoneware pot and tempered glass lid.
7-Quart Slow Cooker – Make a hot meal for the whole family and have plenty of delicious leftovers with room for over 8 servings.
Temperature Probe – Take the stress out of dinnertime! Just set the desired temperature and insert the probe into cuts of meat to reach the level of doneness you prefer. The slow cooker will switch heat cycles to hold food at the target temperature.
Sous-Vide Function – No more guesswork in the kitchen! The Sous-Vide function brings the internal temperature of food to the perfect level for predictable, delicious results. The temperature probe monitors the water temperature that surrounds resealable bags (two disposable bags included).
Digital Control Panel – The large control panel makes it easy to select a slow cooking function, set the target temperature when using the probe, and lock in the perfect temperature for sous-vide cooking.
Removable Stoneware Crock – The durable 7-quart pot retains heat and is easy to clean.

Now for the sous-vide…
Works as it should, will try the sous-vide function soon. When first plugged in, it had a really strong industrial smell. I noticed it right away , chopped up two apples and some cinnamon sticks and plugged it in, outside on the porch. I let it heat and gas off for a few hours and then it was fine. No further odor.Update : Used the sous-vide function twice now since buying it. No regrets. It worked on a seriously tough roast cut into 2″ thick steaks. The spice rub I made was a bit salty but texture of the meat when done was great. Cooking meat at 140 degrees Fahrenheit for 24 hours seemed mighty strange but the results were worth the effort. Keep notes. I found suggested cooking times could be likely be reduced. I did not sear the meat first and allowed the sealed packages to cool before opening to redistribute the juices produced while cooking. I’m not running a restaurant so I can’t compare it to a commercial unit, but it worked well and the temp control for regular slow cooking use is definitely a plus.

Save your money
Spent the added money on a name brand product and would bring water to a boil …. Digital screen would say it’s at temp it’s at and could let the unit run for 12 to 24 hours yet the water is ice cold. Used it 2 times…… save your money and buy another brand I’m honest and don’t complain about things often as I want people to enjoy what they buy not be misled

Nice unit
Fantastic for stews and roasts. Convenient thermal probe cooks meal to perfect temperature. Find it easy to clean removable ceramic pot but harder to get stains off metal portions.

I searched for a new crockpot when I needed to travel with mine that didn’t have a locking lid. I looked at many different ones before settling on this one. Features such as locking lid, timer, automatically goes to warming mode, lid holder all made this one the most appealing. Another feature is the temperature probe that plugs in & sticks through the lid to cook food to temperature. Only downside to this item is that the probe isn’t very long. My first time trying to use it today & it doesn’t go far enough to reach my chicken breasts. I did slice them thinner but was surprises that I couldn’t even touch them. I still love this crockpot & am sure I will be able to use the probe another time. I would recommend this crockpot to anyone.

Use this every week to make soups, stews, chilis, pulled pork, and roasts. Does a great job. I couldn’t work full time and serve homemade meals to my family without this. Love the large size. It’s easy to clean because you can pull the ceramic crock out and put it right in the sink. It’s sturdy..can go from the fridge to the heating element and back again with no problem.

Haven’t used it as a slow cooker yet, but the sous vide feature is awesome. Chicken breast and flat iron steaks have both turned out perfect! Easy to use.
