From the Publisher
This book isn’t a four-step plan to greatness or a foolproof “do the most stuff” guide.
The concepts here are about creating a daily lifestyle and attitude that is manageable and brings you joy. Goals are about getting results—yes—but working toward your goals is the best part of this process. If we are lucky, we will get to continue to work toward things that are important to us.
This book is a guide to creating room in your days, dreaming bigger, and making progress toward your goals.
Try this: Set a timer
There are some reoccurring activities in your days that just need to be cranked out. They may be never-ending tasks (like pulling weeds in the garden or sorting through paperwork), or they may be those things you don’t enjoy but are mindless (like cleaning the bathroom or organizing a workspace) that you lack motivation to tackle.
Try this trick for the stuff that feels like it takes longer than it actually does or the stuff on your list you dread doing: Turn on some music or a podcast, set a timer, then GO! How much can you get done in ten minutes when you are singularly focused? How much can you get through in twenty minutes?
Try this: Start an accountability group
You don’t have to tell a bunch of strangers what you are working on (and of course some projects will demand a bit more secrecy), but it may help to tell a small group. Consider starting an “accountability group” with friends or colleagues. Find four to six people, and commit to meeting once a month in real life or via video chat to share what you’re working on.
Commit to this group. Commit to sharing honestly and keeping the meetings short and on track. Commit to being held accountable and holding the others who show up accountable. Tremendous work can come from this group.

Something for everyone!
I have been looking forward to this book for a while because I love the straightforward, no nonsense yet way Elise presents things on her Instagram account. And the book does not disappoint! First, the book is self is beautifully designed and a true joy to hold and flip through. But more importantly she really breaks down the creative process in a way that fees manageable. She tackles every excuse or challenge you could l possibly come up with for not doing the thing in such a graceful way. In an odd way, I feel like she tells you how to take the emotion of out of the process by recognizing and completely validating all the emotions you might have. I am walking away with pages and pages of notes, scribbles in the margins everywhere and a list of exciting things I want to work towards and also a list of things I’m more than ready to let go of! I’ve already shared with my husband and he’s next in line to read the book and then we’re planning to talk about our five year plans together. If you’re on the fence about this book, don’t be. There is something in here for everyone!

Highly recommend!
This book is SO good. It’s motivating, but more than that it is full of tangible, realistic, actionable ideas and advice on how to actually work towards the things you want to do and what you want your life to be. It is written in a way that is easy to read and makes you feel like you’re part of a conversation rather than just being told how to do XYZ. It can be applied to life, business, family, hobbies.. whatever it is in your life that you want to grow. And if you don’t know what that is then there’s a chapter for that too! I highly recommend getting this book and then buying a copy for everyone else you want to pass it on to because you won’t want to let your copy go once you’re done 🙂

Definitely worth the read, goal setter, or not!
Elise just has such a relatable way of writing! Even though I don’t personally know her, it feels as if I am having a conversation with her on the couch in my livingroom as I read each chapter! Her voice really shines through, motivating and helping you to learn about smarter goal setting, planning and general time management! It was a great read that I will definitely recommend to friends and re-reference in the future!

Great read!
This book is awesome! It has so practical tips and tools listed so you can actually get to work achieving those big dreams – it’s not just lofty ideas. I will definitely be coming back to this book when starting new projects and goal setting around the new year.
DOROTHY –
This book is easy to read and has nice visuals and easy to follow “try this” suggestions for braking down goals, organizing thoughts, and simplifying life by forming new habits. He author infuses the book with her own story on what’s worked for her and what has not and is unassuming when it comes to her suggestions. She encourages to try these things for yourself to see what works for you.I highly recommend this to: people who have creative minds with big ideas that overwhelm them to the point of not taking a first step in any direction. Especially anyone who feels scattered and has challenges focusing that prevents them from having a routine.

I’ve been a fan of Elise ‘s writing since her blog days & this book really delivered for me. I cannot wait to re-read and do all of the steps properly! I devoured this far too quickly – it’s such an easy, uplifting read. I am ready to find my layer 3 and SO ready to make that 5 year plan! Thank you Elise!

There are already quite a few eloquent and descriptive reviews of this book. I know that I will not be able to hold a candle to most of them, but I want to add my two cents! I have followed Elise on IG for quite a few years, and I listen to her podcast. At first I thought “man, this girl is just the Energizer Bunny!” And I still think there is a little bit of that:) But even more so I have seen that she is very down to earth, encouraging, and very good at conveying information clearly and succinctly.I can’t judge the book solely on its own, as I have already heard her thoughts and ideas many times from her IG and her podcast. But the great thing about the book is that she gives so many suggestions of things to think about, to try and to do. And you can go back to try the things as you feel ready. She writes (and speaks) just like you would hope that your very best friend would speak to you; with encouragement, concrete ideas and a total lack of judgement. As soon as someone says “this (whatever “this” is) will work for everyone”, I lose all faith “this” will work at all. Elise is very straightforward in saying that different things work for different people. She gives you lots of ways to help you figure out your own best way, and gives you permission to let the rest go.

I am so excited about this book. I read it, and am willing to re-read all over again already. My husband is reading the book next – totally accessible to males and females alike. This book inspires and encourages, and not just in terms of motivationally ‘yes! I’ll do that’ it inspires to really put the wheels in motion on big and small goals by talking you thru how to break down goals. It really goes beyond the goal setting and helps you believe in taking control of your life, and in a world where social media and keep up with the joneses is at the forefront, it is a breath of fresh air.Yes! To goal setting. Yes! To fulfilling dreams. Yes! Finding my step one. Needed this book, and love that we have it to re-read again and again.

I ordered this book as a longtime admirer of Elise’s creative work & goal-oriented mindset, & I am incredibly glad that I did. Elise has a true gift for breaking down complex ideas & distilling them into clear, specific suggestions for adjusting & improving your goal-setting abilities. The layout & graphic design of the book are perfect complements to the wealth of information inside, & it has a built in bookmark to keep your place!Elise has an uncanny ability to speak with firm kindness, & is an expert at encouraging people to get out of their own way & start by starting. I so appreciate her approachable yet no nonsense attitude. Every page of this book radiates this unbelievably effective blend of motivation & encouragement, while simultaneously reminding you that it is wholly up to you to take action on your dreams. Much like her gorgeous planner, this is not a book that will do the work for you – but it will provide you with applicable, actionable insights that are honest, straightforward, & achievable.I would give this book 10 stars if I could – but since that’s not possible, I’ll just have to purchase copies to gift to everyone I love! This book provides realistic frameworks to implement within your own life to create space for what matters most. Wholeheartedly recommend.
