One of many helpful activities inside: Feel Better
When you’re not feeling your best, allow this visualization meditation to transport you to another world.
Lie down on your bed.Close your eyes and use your imagination.Imagine you find yourself standing on grass. But it feels soft and squishy. It turns out that the grass is made of frosting! You could eat it if you wanted to. Now you see that everything in this magical place is something you can eat. The clouds are made of marshmallows. The trees are licorice sticks. The lake is a strawberry shake. The people who live here are called cupcake cuties. They are little people who look just like cupcakes. They tell you about a special tree that can make you feel better when you touch it.You put your hands on the tree trunk and feel a gentle tingling sensation in your hands. The tingles travel up your arms and all over your body, making you feel better. The cupcake cuties bring cheer. They’re ready for you to taste the clouds and drink from the strawberry shake lake with them. Sweet dreams!

Very beneficial and practical!
As research shows the healthful benefits of meditating and the utmost importance of a good night sleep, I am absolutely pleased with the teachings in this book. My 4 yr old & 8 yr old both responded very well to the practices laid out by Cory Cochiolo and they continue to practice this almost nightly in their bedtime routines! We received a review copy of this book from the publisher and have been extremely grateful to have this opportunity.

A fun and helpful book of meditations for kids
This is a great book of meditations for kids. They are fun and playful enough that my kids are excited to try them. And they are really effective at helping them settle down and get to sleep at night. We all enjoy the variety of meditations and practices to try and look forward to reading another one each night. This is a great resource for parents looking to make bedtime a little easier and more enjoyable with their kids. I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher.

Bedtime Mediations for Kids is a must have book for new parents. Bedtime can be a difficult time when kids are young, especially extra smart kids with vivid imaginations and lots of energy. These children often have difficulty saying goodbye to the day and embracing a peaceful slumber. Corry has created 30 fun meditation exercises and bound them in a delightfully illustrated book. These fun meditations, for kids 4-8, are an excellent way to introduce breathing exercises, body awareness, and imaginative techniques to help calm restless minds and bodies. When I ask my patients which meditations are their favorites, cloud jumping and squeezing peas are always in the top 3. This book is patient tested and doctor recommended. Reading stories before bed is a fantastic way to establish a bedtime routine, but Bedtime Mediations for Kids takes it one step further. Exercises, such as these explained in the book, show children that they can be in control of their mind and body empowering them with the tools to be successful in many ways besides sleep.

My child (6) doesn’t sleep. She struggles to fall asleep. She struggles to stay asleep. She has nightmares and high anxiety (by products I think of high functioning autism).I saw this book and thought I would give it a try. We’ve been using it for the past week.I will say she absolutely loves it. Some of the exercises in there really do calm her down and help her with her anxiety. We’ve also discovered the youtube videos the author has written in which she reads some of the guided mediation activities with calming music in the background.I’m giving it 5 stars because I think it deserves it and she loves it so much but I should mention that it is not a miracle book and she usually doesn’t fall asleep at the end of the mediation. However, I can see that other children probably would fall asleep and generally I can see the benefits of mindfulness for calming her anxiety and in particular I have noticed that when she does sleep she has seemed to have fewer nightmares and has woken up less through the night. We’ve only been using it for a week so whether that is a temporary effect or not only time will tell.If you have an anxious child, using this book with might help.

I purchased two of these meditation for kids books. One to keep at my house and one to give to my Neice and Nephew for their 3 active children. The exercises, games, and strategies presented in this book are perfect for all the different personality and energy types of children. From relaxation, to breathing, to visualization, to movement, to meditation every learning style will find a strategy to assist with not only sleep, but calming and rest even in the middle of the day. I am a special educator/speech pathologist and work with very young children. I am keeping one of the books for me as I use the strategies in the classroom for calming and regulation. I also love having resources to share with parents…ones that work! The style these are written in are clear, calm, and reassuring. Thank you for this great resource…it is a gift!Lane Adams

Easy to read and use without having to follow the book structure. Clear exercises and meditations. My children liked them initially for curiosity, now they know what mindfulness is and are happy to sit whilst I do it, sometimes they join me, sometimes they do not, and that is OK.
