I bought 4 copies of this book. One for myself, one for my newly married granddaughter, and one for each of my daughters. The information in this book is helpful for all ages. I wish I had received this book when I was a young college graduate.Even though I am older and knowledgeable about money matters, I found helpful information in the book. I really like the scripts shared in the book, as they give examples of open questions to use in many situations. These scripts will make what could be awkward situations easier to discuss. Thoughts are shared about any risks the asking poses. Many suggestions are given for asking for reduced or waived fees from banks, credit cards, or medical facilities. You will learn how to negotiate for a lower price for prescription medication, better interest rates, lower closing cost on a mortgage, and even lower rate for funeral costs. These are only a few of the helpful topics covered in the book. I highly recommend it.

  2. Sara Kate Baudhuin

This is an easy to read, practical book that explains why consumers have more power than they think when negotiating with product and service providers. Matt does a nice job of laying out the landscape of when and who it makes most sense to engage. He then lays out why and detailed steps/scripts how you can be your own self advocate when working with providers to obtain a better price or product. This is not a book about theoretical ideas but more practical, actionable steps that anyone can take to improve their financial well being.
