Great Bang For Your Buck
I bought this as a replacement for my Lodge dutch oven which I managed to ruin by preheating it on high heat while empty. Needless to say, I felt like an absolute moron when I realized my error. Tears were shed, deities were cursed, relationships were irreparably fractured. It was looking really bleak for me, especially since work (and, consequently, money) isn’t as robust as it was pre-global health crisis and I couldn’t afford to replace it. When cooking is your way to deal with all the crap life throws at you, the loss of your kitchen workhorse is gut-wrenching. I couldn’t really find any reviews (outside of customer reviews on here) for the very reasonably priced Amazon version of my beloved and dearly departed Lodge, so I hesitated initially on taking the plunge. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and I bought it even without the Bon Appetit test kitchen giving me the green light. Boy oh boy, am I glad I finally decided to buy it. Granted, I’ve only used it once, but it heated up well, produced a really good sear on the pork tenderloin I cooked for dinner, and it cleaned like a dream. It also didn’t stain at all, which my Lodge did on first use; this is nothing against Lodge as the staining doesn’t alter performance, but that crisp creamy white enamel is just so visually pleasing that it’s nice to have it stay pristine. I can’t speak to longevity at this point as I’ve only had it in my possession for about 36 hours, but as a significantly less expensive replacement for a piece of cookware that I loved so dearly, I’m absolutely thrilled with it so far. I’ll update this review if I have any issues but as of right now I can say with confidence that this thing is a steal; if you’re like me and Lodge and (lol) Le Creuset and Staub are just not within reach financially, this is a great option. You get some nice colour choices which should satisfy anyone’s desire for an aesthetically pleasing culinary experience, and some great performance particularly for a budget-priced item. I’m excited to keep using it and am eagerly looking for the next opportunity to cook with it, which for me is really important: cooking gives me joy in a way that few other things do, and more than anything I wanted to recapture the magic I felt when I cooked in my previous dutch oven. Mission accomplished.

Just like the picture. Very beautiful and sturdy. Nice off white Color that would match any kitchen. Bought it to make sourdough bread and it works beautifully. Very happy with my purchase. Just one negative point. It stains easily. But with Mr Clean white sponges, the stains come out. Would highly recommend this product.

Don’t recommend matte finish
Ok so this pot is amazing and functional but I’m not at all happy with the outside finish. I ordered matte and maybe that is my own fault. But it’s a kind scary texture and weird to wash. Great to cook with, I just hate the finish on the outside.

My first Dutch oven
Oh my! This is the first time I have used a Dutch oven! It seems like I entered heaven! I love cooking my first few meals in it! Be careful to handle with care! I accidentally knocked my spoon on the edge and chipped enamel! DO NOT HIT!!!!! I love this pot for the price! I will never be able to afford the expense of Lecruset! So I’m really happy with this pot!!😘. And yes I cook with lemon and mostly pasta sauce using rib meat!I am getting a few questions about the nickel and cadmium and other metals from other customers! Life is short and if you are going to worry about everything, then that is not living! We are putting so much processed goods in our bodies! Example canned meat and some soups are cooked in the cans! I’m sure there is metallurgical components leaching into those food too!!I am not going to worry about every lil thing guys; enjoy yourself and live life to the fullest! And that includes cooking a great meal in this Pot!One more thing! I purchased two sizes, 6 and 7.3 qt! The larger pot is a bit heavy with food! But the 6at is very manageable! I hope this helos!

Heavy but acceptable, even cooking heat
This thing is the perfect size, you can make so many different things with it. The food comes out smelling amazing, and it’s super durable as long as you wash and dry it right after you use it. Plus, the food cooks evenly so it tastes really good. It’s got a great cooking capacity, so you can make a big batch of food for the week. I like the color options, but they don’t always have all of them in stock.

Arrived quickly – I bought two that were someone’s “returns” for a fraction of the price and so happy with both – not a thing wrong with either one and they are awesome for my sourdough breads!!! For a AmazonBasic, this Dutch oven is amazing!! Sooo cute, cleans very easily, and definitely worth the price! It’s deep which is good, however heavy so i cannot use it when my back is hurting. Otherwise love the cooking time cooking capacity ease of use and durability of this pot 🙂 thanks Amazon!
