Very bad design.
Like the title says bad design, pot is not tall enough and strainer does not reach the bottom of the pot, limiting the amount usable space, so your 6 quart pot with the strainer inside is more like a 4 quart pot.You can only cook small pasta like in the image, spaghetti and long noodles are too tall and the pot can not accommodate them, your pasta will be sticking out especially with the strainer. The strainer is too short and needs to fill the entire pot to the bottom, this is not a steamer, and the lip on which it sits needs to be higher and the pot’s height needs to move up with it.Ideally if the pot’s height was as tall as the strainer like in their photo, it would be a great pot, it’s just not with the way it’s designed now.

Too small for family cooking. Constantly overflowing when at boiling point.

This All-Clad steel product is made in China.According to their website, customers can expect “Bonded, Engineered, & Assembled in USA” as they state, “Our fully bonded cookware is handcrafted by skilled craftspeople using the finest materials and revolutionary bonding processes, at our mill in Canonsburg, PA.”It’s with that expectation that this pasta pot would also have been made in the USA that I ordered it. Turns out that’s not the case at all.The utility of the pot and strainer remains to be seen as I haven’t tried it yet. Nonetheless, I am hugely disappointed by the misleading marketing message.

We’re an All Clad family and purchased this based on the brand and the size.We are LOVING this pot. It’s just big enough for pasta for 4 without us having to use our giant stock pot & strainer. We also use it for small batches of soup and chili when we aren’t cooking for company or leftovers.AND…with the smaller size you can keep it with your other pots and pans (even sharing lids with some other All Clad pieces). With our larger stock pot / strainer we have to keep it in a high (out of the way) cupboard and it’s a pain to get out. This is the “just right” size!!The steel is a tiny bit thinner than that of our regular All Clad kitchenware, but it WORKS GREAT.Note that the base is bottom of the pot is an applied disc that ABSOLUTELY IS INDUCTION COMPATIBLE. The heavy magnetic base is PERMANENTLY attached and is key with this set. The walls of the pot are not as thick as your normal All Clad pots (they’re not “clad”), but who cares!?!? Honestly, it’s great that the bottom is heavy, but the pot is a bit lighter! This pot works great and has all of the GREAT looks and SUPERIOR cooking quality of our other All Clad pieces.Don’t be scared off by the low price…This Pasta Pot is WONDERFUL!!! Winner Winner, PASTA DINNER!!

Great pasta pot! Perhaps a little large for my needs, but seems to be great quality – great polish on the outside, and nice satin on the inside. Handles are heavy/durable, and although metal, do not seem to get hot. Nice heavy lid, as well. When using the insert, this pot is very tall (9”+), so I don’t always use the insert. For small batches of pasta, just dumping into a colander is easier. Like some reviewers, I have experienced ‘spotting’ inside the pot, after cooking. In my experience this is very normal with stainless finishes, and does not affect the performance. Afterall, I am just boiling water, so a few spots are not a dealbreaker. Occasionally I use something mildly acidic, like a thin coat of white vinegar & water or leftover pasta sauce heated briefly in the pot, rinse, and will look new again. I have not experienced any issue with boil-over that some reviewers mention. When using the insert, I fill water only up to the top row of small holes. There are two rows of larger holes at the top, and it seems to make sense these may serve as a ‘max fill’ indicator. In any case… perfect pot for its intended use. Very pleased with it.
