Nonstick Coating Peeling after Less than 1 Year
Less than 1 year after purchasing this our non-stick coating is peeling at the edge of the pan. Very disappointing for an All-Clad product.

  5. dssmith

Great addition to our AllClad Cookware. Performs as expected.

I’ve gone induction which does not work with my collection of aluminum N/S pots/pans. I decided to go the spendy route and buy all AC D5. I’m overly impressed with the quality of the D5 Line so it was a simple extension to get the N/S fry pans as well. I’m not sure about spending a ton of cash on any N/S as they are disposables. I have read mixed reviews about the AC N/S warranty so I’m overly protective of these pans.1. NO PAN SPRAY!2. To Clean, Soak, Hand Wash, NO abrasives, scrubbers or scrapers!3. Never Heat Dry Pan, Always wet (use oil or water).4. Never use Metal Utensils ( I use silicone )5. No Broiler.6. Oven temp less than 400 degrees even though they say 500 degrees.7. Don’t let anyone else use them! Especially the kids!I want them to last a lifetime so these are the rules. Some also apply to the warranty. As for the Non-Stick properties… Excellent!A typical use for these pans is to make omelets. I preheat the pan over low heat (1 quarter power) with a pat of butter. Beat the eggs with chives and pepper, When the butter starts to sizzle and is completely melted, pour in the eggs and swirl with a silicone spatula. Grate a tablespoon of cheese over the eggs. When the bottom starts to firm up, lift an edge and tilt the pan to allow wet eggs to run down under the edge. Continue until the eggs are mostly done. Salt to taste. Fold and plate.I cook other food items in these pans but the main reason for getting them was for eggs and other foods that bond to S/S. I Love eggs so the pan was a must have. You will have to use a tiny bit of oil or water if you want perfect release properties. going dry especially with eggs, your mileage will vary. I haven’t had these pans for very long but for the last month, I’ve had premium results.

Very even heat distribution. I do not recommend washing this in the dishwasher despite it being dishwasher safe just to make sure the non-stick surface doesn’t wear prematurely. If you are looking for the best of the best you have found it. All Clad makes a premium American made product that functions quite well. I would buy it again, I would buy it for a gift. Note: this is brushed stainless and not shiny like other All Clad products. Nonetheless – I am very happy with my purchase.

I purchased this pan in 2020 and have taken very good care of it. As you can see from photo, it is delaminating badly. It cost $200 at the time. Typically, All-clad means quality but not this time. I need to return to company in the hopes they will stand by their product. This pan has not been abused.

I have an AllClad 10″ pan. When I spoke to Marrisa at all clad, she said I wasn’t following he instructions. Her explanation: “If you buy a car, and don’t change the oil, that the car will fail.” Ok, so a cooking pan needs to be treated the an automobile. That’s absurd, so I asked her to send me the “manual” which she did. “Just as with All-Clad traditional cookware, a heat setting higher than medium is never necessary because All-Clad’s aluminum core distributes heat evenly, not just across the bottom but up the sides, which eliminates hot spots and is guaranteed never to shock or harm the nonstick surface.All-Clad Nonstick is safe for oven use up to 500°F, but should not be placed under the broiler. The use of nonstick cooking.” NOTE; The word ‘damage’ doesn’t show up. instead “a heat setting higher than medium is never necessary.” Not necessary is very different that “Will damage the pan.” *** this is my 3rd call with All Clad, all of them nasty and blaming the customer. I told her my Sur La Table pans are all prestine – no damage – she said “these might be ten years old” – I explained I have receipt from 2020, but she didn’t seem to care. Being nasty, and accusatory is no way to treat a customer. Allclad is going in the garbage. Never gain.
