So the tool to tighten this blade is what makes the difference from it working okay and working perfectly. To make it work- just tighten. If you put a screw driver in the tool to help turn the tool to tighten the bottom onto the blade- it works flawlessly. I just used my hands at first to tighten and used the tool to get extra leverage to tighten. Doing this with only my hands and the tool left the blade and container leaking. Then I used a screw driver to tighten with the tool and it now works perfectly. The blade works just as well as the original blade. Its a quality blade and a quality tool .

When measured from the castle nut, one side of the blade is .05 inches longer than the other side. I didn’t notice it and the first it ran it was so far out of balance it made the mixer “walk” around the counter top. I found that the out of balance condition ruined the drive socket and it had to be replaced.

Product is good overall. However, if you are replacing the blade with the original Vitamix blade, the shaft is too big and you will have to file the original blade to make it fit. The removal tool that is included works really well. Much better then using my Channel Locks.
