Great rice cooker, worth the money
Love this rice cooker! It is sturdy, nice looking, easy to use, and the rice is consistently perfect. The GABA setting works great for rices that still have the hull on like red rice or wild rice. I can mix 50/50 red rice and brown basmati and the blend comes out perfect. The brown rice is not overcooked and the red is not too chewy. Same is true when I mix brown basmati with wild rice. I haven’t tried the tougher rices like red and black on the normal brown rice setting yet, but that setting does produce perfectly cooked brown basmati rice. None of the batches of rice I’ve cooked have stuck to the pot at all, and the cook is very even throughout the pot. If you mostly cook standard white rice then you’re probably fine with a less expensive more basic machine. If you cook lots of different types of rice and other grains then this is well worth the extra money.

LOVE my zoj
Really makes great rice. Brown, stick, red all turned out great. Basmatti was done on jasmine setting and was a bit dry.. will add a bit more water next time. Super easy to use and clean. On hot days I take it outside to cook as it does release steam. So great to have sticky price cooked properly.

Best.Rice.Ever
I once had the low end basic Zojirushi rice cooker. That rice cooker last 25 years and still made better rice than these other brands. I have missed great rice for too long and finally splurged on this rice cooker. It makes fantastic rice. I’m only sorry I hestitated over the price. It’s worth it for the great rice! The style and cooking ease is great.

Didn’t Know I Needed this
All my life I either used cheap rice cookers, instant pots or made rice on the stove. Each way of making it got better in that order. Then I got this machine after I saw a lot of reviews on it. I figured it would make rice more consistently with less effort but it makes the rice better in just about every way. A bit more flavour, texture is way better, firmer yet plump/fluffy rice with separated but not broken grains. 10/10, will never go back. The difference is significant. The cost is a lot but if it lasts the 10+ years using it a few times a week like many reviews claim then the cost will be quite low over time. Looking forward to many great meals with it.

Mostly good
I had another Zojirushi rice cooker NS-ZCC10 for 11 years and looked forward to new inductive heating in this model (one tier higher from my old rice cooker).Overall, I would say that cheaper (non-inductive) models may be a wiser choice for people looking best value for their money. What I liked about it:1. It cooks rice very well and rice stays freshly cooked for a very long time.2. It is easier to clean both the outside and inside. Not sure why no one mentions it: the inductive heating means that inside of a rice cooker just under the cooking pan does not have any gaps where rice or any other debris can fall into, making it very easy to clean. Also this model has a very flat surface on the top (while the old model had some strange indentations where rice was always getting stuck).3. Hot air escape path has two membranes: the vent (they call it “air vent set”) and the standard one (combination of a stainless steel lid and rubber at its edges). Together this allows to retain water better inside of the cooker and prevents rice from drying longer. The vent and lid are easy to remove and clean.4. Sounds/music can be turned off for start/end of cooking cycle unlike the old model where the choice was between a melody and beeps.5. It has better looks and more practical exterior.6. The pan is heavier and has more solid build to it.7. The menu has a new option – Jasmine rice. The shortcomings:1. Inductive heating and additional membrane make cooking a bit louder than the old version. Not terribly loud, but comparing to the old model (non-inductive) it is certainly louder. The especially annoying part is a hissing sound that happens every minute or so during keep warm stage.2. The cooking pan does not have handles and rotates when you try to scoop rice. The old model had plastic handles, which both – allowed you to hold/lift it with you bare hands and at the same time prevented the pan from spinning when taking the rice out. It is very surprising to see a newer and more expensive model to get worse in this regard.3. The old model had cable retractor, the new model does not have it.

Absolutely worth it
Look, just buy the damn thing. Your owe it to your self. Yeah it’s a 300+ dollar rice cooker. And you know what? It’s worth every cent of that. The build quality is great, it’s easy enough to use (maybe a bit involved but once you get into it it’s fine), cleans easily and the results are absolutely spectacular. I haven’t tried the GABA setting yet, but we’ve run short and medium grain white, jasmin and brown through it and they’ve all come up amazingly. Pretty sure I’ve seen other reviews complaining about the fan noise and yeah, it definitely has a fan that you can hear, but it’s not exactly obtrusive. Overall this is one of the best kitchen/cooking purchases I’ve made in years and I’m probably at the point of annoying all my friends and relatives by raving about a rice cooker, but the hell with the lot of em, their rice sucks and mine is delicious.

This rice cooker was expensive when I bought it, and it’s gone up in price now that I’m looking for a second smaller one. I have the 10 cup, and am considering adding the 5 cup due to I like brown rice, and the rest of my family prefers white. The expense, however, is the ONLY con after over 4 years of owning it and honestly, it’s been worth every penny so I don’t really consider it a con.We had gone through probably 5 different cheaper rice cookers over the years, you know those common models where it has one button to start and a glass lid… while a few of them did Jasmine rice pretty good, none of them could do both brown and Jasmine rice perfectly. This one does. If you’ve only ever had the one button rice cookers with the glass lid, and you move to this one, it’s like going from an old base model Toyota Tercel from the 90s, to a nice modern Lexus sedan. Night and day difference. The rice cooks perfectly every time. Seriously, almost every time we have dinner guests over, someone comments on how good the rice is. Which if you think about it, is kinda exceptional. I mean it’s just rice, right? By itself it’s a fairly boring basic thing, and yet this rice cooker makes it better than a standard rice cooker, or what an average person can achieve on a stove. I say average person because one of my friends whose a chef, his stove top rice cooking skill rivals it. I can’t do it, but this machine is like having him in my kitchen every time I make rice. But it’s not just the perfect rice. This machine keeps rice good and warm and ready for anyone to have a serving for DAYS. Those one button rice cookers we used to own, even the better ones that could do a good pot of Jasmine, you had to get it out of there by the next day, or it was going to get bad. This allows us to have cheap warm good food ready across days. I made a pot yesterday at the time of this writing, and I just had perfect jasmine rice with sardines for lunch, I’ll have a perfect rice with grilled mackerel later, and I’ll have perfect rice with my beans tomorrow at lunch. If my kids are hungry in the middle of the day, and they want a quick something… there’s warm rice and usually something in the fridge to throw on top of it, quick and easy and far healthier(usually) than microwavable frozen food. Now if you only eat rice once in a while, and it’s not a staple in your house, and money is an object, then this is probably overkill. You’re not going to get your money back in the convenience and higher quality of your staple, like you absolutely will if rice is a staple of your diet. But if it is a staple, and you’ve only ever used those cheaper one button rice cookers with the glass lids, and especially if you’re trying to use brown rice to eat healthier, this rice cooker will be worth every penny. Pot after pot of perfect rice, regardless of what kind of rice you cook in it. And if rice isn’t currently a staple for you but money is no object and you buy this, don’t be surprised if rice becomes a staple… the convenience of this with the quality of rice it makes, may well lead to you eating it far more often. And for those of you who are into GABA rice… You don’t need to buy special GABA rice, this will turn brown rice or other whole grain rice(white rice is not whole grain and can’t be turned into GABA) into GABA for you. It takes longer to cook, about 3 and half hours(on the GABA setting, the regular brown rice setting is 90 minutes), but you’re talking about getting GABA for a fraction of the cost. Just checked here on Amazon, GABA rice is going for about 10 bucks a pound if you buy it in a one pound bag. At my local Winco, brown jasmine in the bulk section is like a buck something for a pound and if you buy it in 25 pound bags like I do, on sale, you can get it for well under a dollar a pound. So you will very quickly recoup the costs of this rice cooker, if you’re currently buying special GABA rice regularly as you can just buy a whole grain rice and use the GABA setting to activate it/turn it into GABA rice.So in closing, there are many kitchen appliances that promise to deliver perfect this, or perfect that with greater convenience, and few of them really deliver but this rice cooker absolutely does when it comes to rice. I can not imagine going back to one of those cheap one button glass lid setups, they’re just a significant downgrade. I would absolutely miss this if I had to do that.

Seco a parte externa.
