I don’t know about you, but I’m seeing this pan hyped everywhere. So of course I was eager to see, does it live up to the hype?It’s certainly a beautiful pan, and it’s pretty hefty. It’s nonstick all right — you barely need any oil; it just kind of beads up, the surface is so slick. Normally, on a griddle pan, I’d like a spout/lip where you can easily pour off the grease from when you are frying bacon. The square corners make a good spout, but because the walls are straight, you have to be quick to wipe up the drips on the outside. The straight walls (no bevel) also mean you can’t just slide pancakes and such off the griddle on to a plate — you need to lift off with a spatula.The way the handle is attached, I think I am going to have to be very diligent to keep things clean around the rivets. But with the surface being so slick, it shouldn’t be too hard. And the pan came with a melamine sponge to keep the outside looking nice. The handle is quite long, which is making storage a little tricky for me. But given the weight of the pan, the long handle does help with balance.The instructions say to use medium heat to preserve the nontoxic, nonstick finish. The pan seems to heat up evenly — I didn’t notice any hot spots. It holds heat really well — I was surprised how long it took to cool once off the heat.I can see why people like this pan — it’s beautiful, it heats evenly and holds heat well, it’s super-slick nonstick, it’s hefty and well balanced. It looks and feels like a high-quality product. If you are looking to give someone a lovely wedding or housewarming present, I’m sure they’d be thrilled with this pan. Or if you have a flimsy, warped pan with hotspots and you want to upgrade to a better pan, this is an excellent choice. But as much as I like it, it’s not perfect for me — as pretty as those straight sides are, they are not the most practical for the way I like to cook. And for some folks, the “babying” this pan requires (no high heat, no dishwasher) makes it impractical.The pan is well-packaged in a very nice-looking (giftable) box. And that box is inside a plain box. And that plain box is inside an Amazon box. So that is a whole lot of cardboard to recycle.

I thought this stove top griddle would be more efficient to use and clean than my regular electric griddle when I got it. However, it is harder to estimate a proper temp on the stove to cook without burning things, namely my pictured pancakes. I have the standard stove dials that range from Lo, 1-9, Hi, the setting for this griddle had me going almost to 8. I would say turning the dial down wasn’t that effective either, since so much heat persisted in the cook area, so removal from the stove eye was the best way to lower the heat. Clean up for the pan was easy enough though, and my pancakes weren’t terribly overcooked, so there is that bonus. I realize there is a learning curve with a stove top griddle pan being used in place of a regular griddle, but I’m happy with my first time use results regardless.

As someone that is constantly in the kitchen, I never thought I’d find a pan that I love as much as I love this one. I am very very picky when it comes to pans, and this one checks off every single box. I’d like to preface this review with letting you know I have a gas stove.First, I want to express how amazed I was opening the box. The packaging is beautiful, and everything is so neatly packed in the box, very secure and appealing. The package comes with instructions on how to clean this pan properly, how to cook with it (you don’t want to use too much oil/butter with the non stick material), types of utensils to use, etc. It also comes with a nice little sponge to use if you get the residue on the pan that most pans get. I have had multiple “high end” brand pans and have never had this come with a pan or set. I am very grateful for that!Cooking on this is AMAZING!! It heats very evenly, and it actually cooks everything faster than my other high end pan sets, due to the thorough heating. The non stick feature on this is phenomenal!! I use a quick sprinkle of soybean butter oil, and that’s it!! No cooking spray necessary!! When cooking pancakes, I don’t have to spray every new pancake! The size of the pan is perfect for four slices of French toast, four burgers, etc. Clean up is super easy!! Quick spray of Dawn power wash, wipe with a cloth or sponge, and rinse!! I have yet to have ANYTHING get stuck on this and I’ve used it a lot!! This is a must have for any kitchen, whether it be a constant cooking kitchen like mine or an infrequent cooking one.
