    “Meat and potatoes”
It is interesting to read many of the verses so often quoted/misquoted found in this book. This book offers no fancy, get-rich schemes like so many books on the market today. Rather, Franklins advise is concise and to the point. It’s easy to see why so many of us, especially Americans, with so many resources at our disposal, are in financial dire straits.Franklin admonishes us against laziness, spending more than we make, trying to keep up with the latest fashions, and stocking our pantries with expensive foods. For the most part, we Americans have had so much for so long we’ve forgotten many of these simple practices. This is a great book. Worth every penny–if you read and follow its admonition. You can read it in a half-hour easily. In fact, as another reviewer noted; it should be carried with you, and reviewed often. I agree.

    Worth it.

Benjamin Franklin’s “The Way to Wealth” is a humorous yet enlightening book by America’s founding father, a genius. The 26-page Kindle version is free but worth millions. If Nobel Prizes had been given during his lifetime (1706-1790), he would have earned the Nobel Prize for Literature because he wrote so well. The book can be read in 20 minutes but changes 50 years of life. He talks about the need for people to stop being lazy. Lazyness travels so slowly that poverty soon overtakes a person. There is no gain without pain. People must think of saving, not just getting.

This lovely little book holds timeless wisdom about money, work and life. Interestingly, many of the ideas are still valid (or even more so) today. My favorite takeaways are, “Never leave that until tomorrow which you can do today” and “Don’t waste your money on petty, insignificant luxuries.”
